Motherhood is not easy especially for working moms.
In the case of Ciara Sotto, she spends quality time with her friends to de-stress.
On Saturday, June 30, the celebrity mom enjoyed some wine and cheese at the Y Cafe White Manila party on board the Y-Acht Club's Lagoon 630 and Azimut 100 in Manila Bay.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Ciara said it's been a while since she attended a yacht party.
"It's actually parang the second time pa lang for me...The first time was when I was a teenager pa.
"Now, I'm in my 30s. This will be fun because I'll meet new people and re-meet people…
"That's good because I'll be acquainted with people from the media, the press, which I kinda miss because I was in a hiatus for a long time."
The last time she had a regular series was in 2015, when she co-starred in Princess in the Palace.
During the interview, Ciara underlined the importance of having "me time."
"...That's when you appreciate yourself more. That's when you reflect on the stuff that you've done, reflect on yourself.
"Dun mo maiisip na what you could do better, what could you improve on or what could you lessen on doing."
Of course, her priorities have changed since she gave birth to her son Crixus in March 2015, but she sees to it that "me time," which is usually time out with friends, is part of her regular routine.
"Siyempre hindi naman perfect lahat ng moms di ba so important din na ang nanay would go out with her friends.
"Kasi parang mabu-burn out ka din na inaalagaan mo lang yung baby mo the whole day.
"Nagpapa-alipin ka, minsan parang boss na rin yung anak mo, parang ganun.
"So kailangan merong time ka rin para sa sarili mo so you can re-energize."
Aside from Ciara, Miss Intercontinental 2015 1st runner-up Christy Lynn McGarry and DJ-boyfriend Eduardo Lara also came.
The couple provided the chill beats while the guests were enjoying the amazing sunset view.
Bea Alonso Te, also known as DJ Butta B, also played some mixes at the party.
FOOD TRIP. Intermittent projects are also a good diversion for the daughter of Senator Tito Sotto and actress Helen Gamboa.
Her latest was a guesting on TvN Asia's One Night Food Trip International Season 2, a reality travel show which challenges celebrities to try local cuisines of different countries.
She told PEP.ph, "It's very educational when it comes to food because there were some dishes that Danica and I haven't tried before na dun lang naming sa show na-try."
Ciara teamed up with her cousin Danica Sotto-Pingris.
They went against K-pop stars Nichkhun and Alexander Lee.
Ciara found most of the challenges easy save for tasting the exotic food.
"Ang ayoko lang sana yung parang kung pakainin kami ng aso—yung ganun—or ahas, or frog.
"For some people kasi, exotic na yung mga sisig, ganun."
What's the most exotic food she has tried so far?
Ciara revealed, "Actualy, ahas. I didn't like it. Niluwa ko siya kasi parang gummy na ewan na fatty… It's so yucky."
She also tried eating Adobong Palaka with Danica.
"Actually, I didn't like frog, but Danica and I ate frogs by accident when we were teenagers.
"May adobo dun sa kitchen ni mama, e, galing kami Eat Bulaga!
"Kinakain namin 'tapos sabi niya, 'Ate, ang lambot ng buto no?' 'Actually, ang lambot nga nung buto.'
"Pag akyat namin, sabi ni mommy, 'Kumain na kayo?' 'Oo ma, Adobo.'
"Sabi niya, 'Ang sarap 'di ba? Adobong palaka yun!' Gusto naming sumuka! Sabi ko, 'What? Palaka!'
"Nagulat talaga kami pero pag nalaman naming palaka yun, hindi naming kakainin sana.
"Pero masarap talaga."
Aside from the food trip, Ciara also enjoyed the company of Nichkhun and Alexander.
She said, "They're fun, they're fun. Actually, nung presscon nga namin, parang nagkabiruan kasi ang gentleman ni Xander.
"Tinakpan niya yung legs ko dahil naka mini-skirt ako.
"So ayun sinabi ko, 'Are you single?' But I was just really joking. As in pure joke talaga yun.
"Pero yun nga, it's nice 'cause you're able to joke with them, you know, be comfortable with them kahit hindi naman talaga kami nakapag-bond during the show."
