Sisters Toni and Alex Gonzaga recently celebrated the first anniversary of their milk tea shop called Happy Cup.
And they are grateful to their mom Pinty Gonzaga for the success of their business.
The sisters said they made the right choice when they named Mommy Pinty as the CEO of the company.
Toni told PEP.ph last August 2, "Siya ang talagang hindi ko alam kung pa'no niya nagagawa niya sa buhay—being a mother, being the CEO of the company.
"We gave her the position of being CEO of Happy Cup because she's the only trusted person we know who can really take care of the business, who knows the numbers, who knows how the business works.
"Accountant kasi ang mommy so alam niya lahat pagdating sa numbers. Very accurate yung numbers na binibigay niya sa amin."
The Gonzaga sisters expressed their gratitude to their customers, the Happy Peeps.
Toni continued, "We're expanding and growing, slowly but surely," adding they currently have over 8,000 inquiries for franchise.
"But we're in the process of screening every inquiry kasi mahirap mag-partner with someone na hindi namin sure maaalagaan ng mabuti yung brand, kung mare-represent nila nang tama yung tindahan.
"Kasi it's our names on the line, na we wanted affordable and, at the same time, same quality ang milk tea na maibibigay dun sa mga consumers namin."
In just a year, their business grew massively with 56 branches around the country.
Toni shared the good news on her Instagram account last July 22, and thanked everyone who joined them in this journey, including their business partners and franchise owners.
She wrote, "56 branches in 1 year with our beloved franchisees and hardworking staff and employees!
"Thank you for your trust and loyalty. As of last night, our management announced that we will be opening 18 branches soon!
"Exciting times! Will keep you posted!"
The opening of new branches will happen this 2018.
Toni said, "Yun muna yung klinose naming quota. If that will exceed some more, kung madadagdagan pa, eventually ipapaalam namin.
"Pero minonitor namin hanggang December, we accommodated 18. 'Tapos lahat ng inquiries namin naka-line up na for next year."
Toni leads the company as head of marketing and customer relations with the help of Alex.
Their first year was definitely a learning process.
"Yung company yung kanilang source of income so you really want the company to grow more, to help more people, to employ more, and to give all the benefits sa iyong mga employees."
