Isabela Vinzon, who has joined singing competitions, is also a beauty-queen material.
A former The Voice Teens Philippines finalist, Isabela, fondly called "Lala" at home, is the daughter of veteran action star Roi Vinzon and former band vocalist-turned-talent manager Jeaney David.
Standing at 5 feet 7 inches, Isabella had already thought about joining a pageant.
Lala narrated, "Pumasok po pero biglang pumasok din po yung The Voice so nag-focus ako nun sa The Voice muna.
"Sabi ko sa sarili ko, kapag tumanda na ako, and kapag nakapag-train pa nang sobra-sobra.
"Being a beauty queen—it's a lot of guts and training so hindi minamaliit yung pagiging beauty queen."
Who are the beauty queens she looks up to?
Lala answered, "Miss Gloria Diaz, Megan Young, of course, the classic Pia Wurtzbach..."
The 17-year-old singer and ASAP performer jokingly added, "and Miss Mags [Cue]."
Mags Cue is a model-turned-entrepreneur and the owner of Mags clothing, which recently launched Lala as its latest endorser.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the entertainment press spoke with Lala at her contract signing with the clothing brand last September 21, at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.
BECOMING A BEAUTY QUEEN
Has she joined a beauty pageant before?
"Nag-pageant po ako noon, dalawang beses sa Pampanga po."
She later quipped, "[I won] po sa dalawang pageant na nadaya ko siguro yun, hindi ko alam! Miss Pampanga Private School po and parang Miss Arayat."
Lala admitted that winning these two pageant titles was not a walk in the park.
She told PEP.ph, "Yung mga oras na po na yun, siyempre nahirapan po ako lalo na yung poise, yung discipline, yung personality development ng isang beauty queen, napakahirap i-[train] yun.
"At saka yung utak nila, mabilis mag-isip. Mahirap sumagot sa mga tanong na siyempre hindi ka rin handa minsan.
"Katulad ngayon, di pa masyado challenging 'to pero pag nasa entablado ka na kasi nabubulol ka especially medyo English pa.
"English is not my first language, inaamin ko yun."
The biggest challenge among beauty contestants is to stand out in a pageant.
She said, "May mga beauty queen din kasi na hindi nag-title pero napapansin mo rin, e.
"Sadyang hindi lang sila nabigyan ng... sa isang gabi kasi talagang jina-judge yung personality mo sa stage.
"Mahirap din na may isang babae nagsha-shine sa ilang girls sa stage.
"So para mag-shine ka sa gabing yun, iba ka."
