Remember Leila Barros?
In August 1999, this Brazilian volleyball "phenom" took the country by storm with her great play as opposite hitter and beauty.
The 5'10" stunner was in Manila for the FIVB World Women's Volleyball Grand Prix, where her team won a bronze medal.
Her name resurfaced early this week because Leila won a Senate seat in Brazil's Federal District, which is divided into "31 administrative regions, and contains the Brazilian capital city, Brasília," according to Wikipedia.
Leila is now 47 years old.
