Joshua Garcia is still saving up for his dream house.
"Gusto ko magmukha siyang gaming house," the Ngayon at Kailanman actor told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and two other reporters.
"Nandun na lahat—may bilyaran, may space para sa mga laruan, 'tapos isang kuwarto na isang buo."
Asked about his dream house's design, Joshua said he was inspired by his trip to Barcelona, Spain, in 2016.
Back then, he joined fellow Kapamilya stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo for the shoot of the film Barcelona: A Love Untold.
"Yung mga structure mga brick-brick. Ang ganda nun," he shortly recalled.
But Joshua pointed out that he would want to focus on the needs of his family first before spending for himself.
The young ABS-CBN star continued, "Ang plano ko kasi is ipapatapos ko ang ate ko sa pag-aaral, 'tapos yung papa ko, bibilhan ko ng bahay. Dun sila.
"'Tapos ako, tatayo ako ng sarili kong bahay."
Joshua admitted to being frugal when it comes to his expenses.
He's actually not the type who spends too much on dates.
He explained, "Yes na no—yes kasi siyempre nagtatrabaho ako, e.
"Pero siyempre, no, kasi gagastos ako, e!"
But despite his mindset, Joshua isn't really a total miser.
The young star said he doesn't hold back when spending on gifts.
The most expensive gift he bought for screen partner Julia Barretto? "A phone."
As for his penny-saving tip, the actor had a simple rule of thumb.
He confessed, "Siguro pag-isipan mo nang one hundred na beses bago mo bilhin ang bagay na gusto mo bilhin.
"Iisipin mo kung magagamit mo nang matagalan."
But would Joshua indulge himself every now and then?
What does he often splurge on?
"Games! Sa games ako.
"Games, shades, shoes. Hindi pa ako sa watch, pero feel ko dadating na rin dun."
PEP.ph caught with Joshua after his #CONEfessions Facebook Live at the Unilever Office in Bonifacio Global City last October 25.
