Andre Lagdameo is among the newest faces of GMA-7.
The 19-year-old younger brother of host-entrepreneur Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez followed in his sister's footsteps through modeling.
From there, Andre took an interest in showbiz.
"Actually, it was a recent thing that I wanted to try out," the young influencer told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) back at an event in November.
"Because in school, I would enjoy acting and performing in front of people. So, why not give it a shot?
"So far, I’m enjoying it. I'm meeting new people."
Andre signed up with GMA Artist Center in June.
UP-AND-COMING YOUTUBE VLOGGER
Aside from attending workshops to hone his acting skills, Andre also set up his own YouTube channel.
He revealed, "I like making my own content mainly on motivating people. I like motivating [others] and adding humor.
"As long as I relate with people—that's what I really enjoy. It’s not just senseless content, but I actually want to give substance to my videos and give a good message."
Andre considers YouTube a good platform to reach out to people and make connections.
"For me, I always thought if I can reach out, then I think it's worth taking a shot. I think YouTube is a great platform to reach people because people are always on their phones, computers, devices. So, I’m like, why not use YouTube? I can reach people even from my home."
The Business Administration undergraduate believes that his YouTube channel can be an effective way to air out his personal opinions.
Andre continued, "One of the things I’m strong on is [going against] bullying. I was actually bullied in school.
"[I want to encourage other to] Be confident in who they are and knowing that if ever they are going through something, they are not alone. They can make it through it. They don’t have to stay stuck there forever. It’s not a permanent thing."
