After four years of marriage, Paul Soriano says the "glue" keeping him and Toni Gonzaga together is their son Seve.
"He has brought us closer. He has brought all families closer. He's really the center of the Gonzaga-Soriano family. It's no joke," the film director tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during an exclusive interview in November.
The Sunod producer also credits Seve for making his marriage with Toni—or Tin, as family and close friends call her — stronger.
He continues, "Definitely a hundred and ten percent. Obviously, you have to work on a marriage as much as you working on being a father or a mother. Seve is really the glue for Tin and I.
"It's definitely made it better, stronger, and we really listen to each other more now.
"We're more aware that the problems between us can now affect someone else. We also have to be very careful with our choices.
"We're not just thinking about ourselves anymore or our marriage. We're thinking about the future of our son, the future of our next child.
"The responsibility is much bigger, so we're a little bit more careful, calculated, but, at the same time, more driven, much more inspired because we want to be able to provide and give our children the best education we can give them."
SEVE AND TIN
Paul acknowledges that Seve has a different kind of relationship with Toni.
"He's a clear Mama's boy, which is fine with me," he says.
"That's kind of what they say with boys, di ba, so I love the fact that he looks for his mom.
"He's always like, if he wakes up in the morning and his mom already left for a shoot, and I'm there, he'll always ask, 'Where's Mommy?'
"That's beautiful, I think."
