What’s keeping DonBelle closer than ever these days?

How does a love team like DonBelle stay close despite their extremely busy schedules? Last October 26, a few lucky fans saw the answer in person. Ten certified DonBelle stans spent a fun-filled evening with Donny Panglinan and Belle Mariano at their very first meet-and-greet on Philippine shores.

Each fan won a recent promo held by closeup, scoring an invite to the #CloserWithDonBelle dinner at Tablo Kitchen x Café in QC. While waiting for the couple to arrive, guests watched Belle’s music video for her latest single Closer—co-starring Donny, of course. It proved to come in handy during the program proper, where they were joined by DonBelle themselves for a game of “Complete the Lyrics.” Belle and Donny took turns singing lines from the song karaoke-style, pausing whenever the lyrics on the screen showed blanks instead of words. The guests had to then sing the rest of the line to stay in the game.

The festivities continued with a few rounds of “Guess Who Tweeted It?”. Tweets from either Donny or Belle were flashed onscreen, except their names and profile pics were covered. Contestants had to guess which of the two wrote that tweet and had zero problems guessing each one correctly. There were moments of laughter whenever one of the two stars forgot to write their own tweets. Guests also got to know DonBelle a little better each time they explained the stories behind each of their posts.

The last game of the evening was also the craziest. Guests had to put their hands into a box and guess what was inside without peeking. At the same time, Belle and Donny took turns putting their hands into the box alongside the contestants’. Belle would shriek with nervous laughter as Donny, and the guests tried to scare her about the box’s contents, and the entire room shivered with kilig each time Donny’s hands would touch contestants. One of the guests even got a quirky little souvenir from the game: a bunch of broccoli she and Donny touched while playing.

After the games, DonBelle took some time to answer the fans' questions and thank them for their support. They also teased their then-upcoming movie together and shared that becoming ambassadors for closeup was another career milestone.

They closed out the program with photo ops with each guest, followed by a delicious buffet dinner.
