Rochelle Pangilinan feels so lucky to have her husband Arthur Solinap (not in photo) and their daughter Shiloh in her life.

Motherhood has been smooth-sailing for first-time mom Rochelle Pangilinan so far.

The GMA-7 actress-performer feels blessed that her five-month-old Shiloh has been an "easy" baby.

Mas tahimik nga daw alagaan," Rochelle tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the July 28 branch opening of Faces & Curves in Bonifacio Global City.

ROCHELLE'S SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, POSTPARTUM BLUES

But don't think Rochelle is spared from the sleepless nights.

The Kapuso star says, "Meron, marami ako.

She should have gotten used to them since they're part of her grind as an actress.

But Rochelle admits to being overwhelmed by this new experience in the beginning.

Or kung may taping ka again kinabukasan, puwede ka matulog in between. And then, of course, meron kang pahinga. For the whole week, for sure meron kang makukuha na isang araw ng pahinga.

"Pero ito hindi. Wala pala siyang pahinga.

At that time, Rochelle's husband Arthur was busy with two GMA-7 shows: the prime-time drama KaraMia and the weekly sitcom Pepito Manaloto.

Rochelle barely saw Arthur and would get emotional each time they would get together.

Good thing, Shiloh's sleeping pattern has been manageable so far.

"Sleep na siya ng 9 p.m., and then 5 a.m., gising siya. Meron siya mga gising na 2 a.m., 4 a.m. Dede lang, tulog ulit, e."

Now, Rochelle assures that everything is in a better state. The first-time mom has become more confident when anticipating Shiloh's needs.

She continues, "Sobrang happy na and ewan ko, parang naiintindihan na niya ako, e. Naiintindihan na niya kami.

"And then alam na namin kung ano kailangan niya.

Every night, left and right tingin siya sa amin mag-asawa.

"Right and left, tulog siya.

So, sobrang thankful kami easy baby talaga siya."

ROCHELLE FEELS LUCKY

Rochelle likes to think that Shiloh is God's way of telling her to have more babies.

She says, "Para sa first time, nagpapasalamat talaga ako kay God na ito binigay Niya sa akin. Siguro kung pahirapan tulad ng kuwento ng ibang mommy, first and last na iyan...

"In His perfect timing pa din kasi His perfect timing naman talaga nung dumating si baby, e."

Shiloh was conceived at an unexpected time. In fact, Rochelle didn't even know she was pregnant until she had an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).

Rochelle announced her pregnancy on August 26, 2018.

Rochelle and Arthur got married on August 8, 2017.

Rochelle feels lucky to have both Arthur and Shiloh in her life.

She describes her husband as a "hands-on dad."

The dancer-actress says, "Siya nagpapatulog. Siya kapag pagod na ako. Alam niya paano magpadede.

Because of Arthur, Rochelle also gets the chance to have time for herself.

She adds, "Actually, yung support system ko maganda kasi nakakakuha ako ng 'Me Time.'"

What is Rochelle's favorite part about being a mom?

"Kapag nakatulog siya na yakap ko siya. Iyon yung pinakagrabe.

Baby Shiloh was born on February 24, 2019.
