Nathan Lee, the youngest child of Lloyd Lee and 2011 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup-Lee, celebrated his first birthday last Thursday, October 3, at the One Shangri-la Place Residences in San Juan City.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had a short chat with Shamcey prior to the festivities.
How does she feel now that she's a hands-on mom to two adorable tots?
She admits, “Hindi ko na-imagine na magkakaroon pa ako ng dalawang first birthday parties!
“So masaya, kasi now it’s a boy naman so parang iba naman yung feel.”
Now that the couple's eldest daughter Nyke is three years old, most of their friends feel that their son's arrival is more than ideal.
Did the second-time mom have to resort to any adjustments with her second pregnancy?
“It was easier the second time. Everything, from pregnancy, to the birth, to raising the little one, parang yung hirap ko dun sa first, nawala sa second, parang ganun,” she says thankfully.
“Like sobrang happy kami, he was really a blessing last year for us.”
How would Shamcey describe Nathan?
The proud mom discloses, “He’s a boy of few words.
“Iyon talaga. Hindi siya iyakin, seldom mo siyang marinig magsalita, unless talagang umiiyak siya, tatawag siyang ‘Mama’, pero he just plays.
“Very active compared kay Nyke. Si Nyke, ever since six months pa lang, ganun na ng ganun, e.
"Eto, sobrang tahimik pero pag nalingat ka lang, minsan umakyat na ng kama, or saan-saan na, or nahulog na.
“So sobrang magkaiba sila ng personality. So iyon naman, iyon yung nakita ko kay Nathan, medyo tahimik siyang bata.”
Is Nathan a Mama’s boy or Papa’s boy?
Shamcey blurts out, “Maka-lolo! Grabe!
"As in, meron na siyang look na parang pag nakalagay lang siya sa stroller niya, na titingnan niya yung lolo niya, yung look na hindi mo na siya matitiis.
“Na kailangang kargahin mo siya, ngingiti-ngiti siya sa iyo, nagpapapansin.
“So I think Lolo’s boy. Yung first one, Lola’s girl. Eto, Lolo’s boy.”
Since their kids are both pro-lolo and lola, where does that leave Shamcey and her hubby? Is that their cue for a "follow-up project?"
She sighs, “I know! Iyon na nga, e. Parang, sabi ni Lloyd, ‘Ano, isa pa ba?’
“Sabi ko, ‘Ah, hmmm, we’ll see! Not in the near future.’
“Well for now, wala, walang balak."
Nathan's dedication ceremony was also held during the birthday celebration.
