Anuman ang sabihin o gawin ng anak, maging firm dapat ang mga magulang sa pagsasabi ng no o never o not yet sa mga anak. Early on, the kids should know the value of these three words.

"Not because gusto ng bata, you give it," panimula niya.

Mahirap mang gawin, ituturo nito sa anak na hindi nila makukuha parati ang gusto, and they won't feel bad or play tantrums.

Ang payo ni Dr. Regalado, dapat matutunan ng mga parents ang 3 Ns: "no, never, and not yet."

He details, "Sometimes you should, hindi naman kailangan deliberately, but kailangan dini-delay mo o sometimes tell them, 'Next time na lang.'

"Make sure tama iyong word mo, ah—you don't tell a child, 'We will buy another one.' You don't.

"Tell them, 'We will go there, we will see, we'll just look.'

"Even if you feel na parang gusto niya bumili talaga, the agreement is you won't, so you won't.

"'Tapos minsan sasabihin mo, 'No, that's not for us.'

"If a child understands the meaning of those words, madi-discipline iyong bata.

"Ito iyong mga resiliency na puwede mong ma-develop sa kanya."

KIDS NOT ALLOWED TO USE GADGETS BEFORE FIVE YEARS OLD

Isa rin daw ang gadgets sa nagbibigay ng instant gratification sa mga bata, kung kaya't inirerekomenda ni Dr. Regalado na payagan lamang ang mga bata na gumamit nito when they reach five years old.

"So dapat up to age two, none.

"Three years old, toddler iyan, you let them move around."

Once you let the kid use it, importanteng ma-monitor ang kanyang screen time.

"After that, five [years old], one hour at the most but dapat it's something that they do with supervision. You are there.

"After ng five years old, puwede na siya ng games but again, with you kasi you have to choose the games that they play, dapat hindi violent."

Dagdag ng pediatrician, "You don't buy children electronics ha.

"Sabihin mo, 'O, don't touch it, that's expensive, that's not a toy.'"
