Six years ago, life dealt a tough blow to former teen idol Wowie de Guzman.

In 2014, a month after his daughter Raff was born, Wowie's wife Sherryl Ann Reyes passed away unexpectedly.

Wowie was heartbroken.

How has life been for Wowie lately?

The dancer-actor tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Super, I'm thankful na sobrang daming blessing, especially sa career.

Currently, Wowie performs and teaches Zumba to Pinoys in the Philippines and around the world.

Halos every other day, minsan every day may mga events.

"Tayong mga Pilipino kasi mahilig sumayaw, so napakalaking tulong iyong grupo kong UMD."

UMD refers to the popular 1990s dance group Universal Motion Dancers, of which Wowie was an active member.

LIFE AS A SINGLE FATHER

When it comes to his life as a parent, Wowie thanks his family and his in-laws for making things easier.

So far, so good. Mahirap siya, but because of them, mas napapadali ang lahat."

Does Wowie's daughter Raff look for a mother figure?

The celebrity dad muses, "Siguro dahil dalawa ang lola niya, mga tita. Nandoon pa sister ng wife ko. Sa ngayon, hindi pa.

"Maybe in the future, magtatanong-tanong na. Kasi bata pa talaga, e. Magsi-six pa lang siya... So far, okay naman.

I think, onti-onti, maiintindihan niya."

What does Wowie like about being a dad?

The former teen star says, "You wanna be a better person para doon sa baby mo.

"It gives you more reason na maging mas maayos iyong mga desisyon mo sa buhay. Unlike before na single ka, happy go lucky talaga.

PEP.ph met up with Wowie, fellow UMD member James Salas, Manoeuvres member Joshua Zamora, and Streetboys member Yexel Sebastian at the Summit Media office earlier today, January 16.
