Cristalle Belo, an active advocate of early childhood education, is a long-time supporter of a non-government organization called MovEd (Molding Optimism and Values through Education) Philippines, which provides access to early childhood education.

Her advocacy stems from her belief that children develop and learn at a rapid pace and are highly influenced by the environment that surrounds them.

She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Parang sponges yung brain nila.

"They just keep on absorbing and absorbing things. So may opening yun, and you should really feed them a lot of information and experiences."

For this reason, Christalle has enrolled her one-year-old son Hunter in a play school to enable him to explore an environment unfamiliar to him, and to be taught skills by child experts.

She said, "Feeling ko lang, if he's at home talking to the same people, parang limited yung matututunan niya.

"So I really actively looked for a playschool that he can have friends, which he looks forward to.

"He has teachers, di ba? So iba yung experience niya dun."

PEP.ph interviewed Cristalle last January 14, 2020, Tuesday, at a press launch for Belo Medical Group in Rizal Park Hotel, Manila.

The 35-year-old celebrity entrepreneur said MovEd has pre-school facilities in Pasig, in Parañaque, and in the Bicol province for children coming from poor families.

Cristalle said, "We take in pre-schoolers bago sila mag-Kinder. Currently, we're taking care of 900 children that don't really have the income to go to school.

"So kaysa sa kalsada sila, it's better that they are with us.Talagang we develop a curriculum so they'll learn a lot.

"As a matter of fact, nata-track namin yung mga students namin when they go to Kinder and Grade 1, and nakikita namin na our kids, the MovEd kids perform better.

"So we're very proud of them talaga."

Cristalle also expressed her gratitude to Vice President Leni Robredo, who hails from Bicol and is a big supporter of MovEd.

She said, "Most of our schools are actually in Bicol because, before pa maging VP si Leni, she really worked with us in providing communities that are underserved and that need the help."
