Dianne Medina and Rodjun Cruz are all keyed up with the birth of their baby just a few weeks away.
Rodjun told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an e-mail interview, "We're very excited. We’re just waiting for his arrival. Everything's all set already."
Replying to the same interview last Tuesday, August 11, 2020, Diane said she and Rodjun did consider the pandemic but, just the same, decided to go with hospital delivery after consulting with her obstetrician (OB).
The 33-year-old actress explained, "We opted to give birth in a hospital for safety and emergency purposes since my OB assured me that all machines and equipment there are all complete.
"With regard to the growing number of COVID cases, my OB assured me also of the hospital's safety and health protocols."
Dianne, now 34 weeks of pregnant, has not stopped working, and it just gets harder with the weight she's carrying.
The Kapuso actress said, "The baby is super heavy so I’m experiencing muscle and back pains so it's really a challenge for me to shoot my work-from-home segments.
"During the first trimester, I had to stop working because I had Subchorionic Hemorrhage which is very crucial."
According to VeryWellFamily.com, Subchorionic Hemorrhage happens when there's "abnormal accumulation of blood between the placenta and the wall of the uterus."
Dianne continued, "I had to take bed rest and I wasn't even allowed to go down the stairs."
The soon-to-be mom lauded Rodjun for just being around.
She said, "I’m very lucky to have my husband with me all the time. He supports and takes good care of me.
"He makes sure that I eat healthy (which also I’ve been very conscious about).
"He makes sure to get all my food cravings even if it's hard because of the lockdown and our limited access."
THE BABY'S NAME
In June, the first-time parents-to-be organized a digital gender reveal party with their closest friends and family.
Dianne and Rodjun also shared the news with their fans through social media last June 21, Sunday.
Rodjun is thrilled to know their first baby is a boy, although Dianne had hoped for a girl.
She said, "RJ wants a baby boy. Ako sana baby girl."
He assured everyone, "But as long as the baby is healthy and normal, I’m okay with any."
The couple has also decided on their baby's name: Rodolfo Joaquin Diego Illustre III.
According to Rodjun, "Rodolfo came from the name of my Dad, it means wolf and strong.
"Joaquin is the Spanish version of the biblical name Joachim.
"It is a male name which means 'lifted by Yahweh' or 'God has established.'"
Dianne contributed, "Diego is a boy's name of Spanish origin meaning 'supplanter,' and then III since he was named after his Dad and Lolo Rodolfo."
What's the first thing they'll do when they meet their baby?
Rodjun answered, "Pray to GOD and thank HIM for this wonderful and precious gift."
Dianne and Rodjun announced they were having baby through an Instagram post last April 12.
The couple tied the knot at the Manila Cathedral on December 21, 2019.
