Cai Cortez is in a locked-in shoot, living away from her family, and the homesickness is beginning to come down hard on her.
The mother of two let it all hang out in her Instagram post dated October 19, 2020.
Cai wrote (published as is), "Ang hirap maging malayo sa mga anak para magtrabaho. Ramdam na ramdam ko yung pangungulila sa gabi.
"Panatag naman akong naaalagaan sila ng maayos sa bahay, pero di ko napipigilang isipin kung sapat ba yung kisses and hugs na nakukuha nila araw araw.
"Narealize ko na pagka ang lalaki ang lumayo para magtrabaho, parang sapat na yun para maging mabuting ama kasi typically sila ang providers.
"Pero iba pa rin ang kalinga ng nanay. Yung comfort na nabibigay natin pagka they feel insecure or lonely. Haaay."
Although this project has taken her away from her children, Cai is thankful that she's working at all during the pandemic.
It's also a good thing that technology has made communication instantaneous.
Her son Bibo recently showed her his school project, which served as a "simple reminder that they are safe and okay..."
Somewhat relieved, Cai said, "...nakaka-ease ng anxiety during lonely nights."
Cai has two children with her Tusnian husband Wissem Rkhami: Bibo, 3, and Carmen, 10 months.
