Camille Prats added the role of homeschool teacher to her list of mommy duties this year.
Like most parents with young kids, Camille had to choose between enrolling her child in an online school and taking up the role as teacher in homeschooling.
At first, the mother of three said she tried online classes for her three-year-old daughter Nala, "but she easily gets distracted and wants to do other things instead..."
The GMA-7 host-actress then decided to teach Nala herself.
Camille had her misgivings at first, especially since teaching Nala meant trying to keep her attention focused on a lesson.
The celebrity mom said in her recent Instagram post: "At first medyo struggle, I was scared that I might be frustrated and lose my patience with her and I certainly don't want that to happen. So I mustered up some courage by constantly reminding myself that we can do this."
Eventually, Camille saw Nala adjusting well to her new school set-up.
"I noticed how much fun she was having whenever we make every learning time a playtime, she easily picked up the lessons we would tackle each day. The more tawa and hagikhik the better."
Nala's enjoyment in the lessons eased Camille's worries.
She added, "It also became less stressful for me coz she enjoys study time and looks forward to it."
While Camille began to appreciate the joy of homeschooling, she also understood the struggle that other parents likely have.
So she gave this message to her fellow homeschooling parent-teachers: "Lately, this has been the struggles of some parents with the new normal. yung ibang mga nanay nga feeling nila sila ang naka-enroll.
"there is a way to make learning enjoyable and it's the perfect chance to bond with your kids too. Us parents are the first teachers of our children.
"So to you momma and daddy, 2020 is almost over and you survived online classes and modules at home! give yourself a big five!!"
Camille has two more kids: Nathan, 12, and Nolan, 1.
