Andres Muhlach is leaving for Spain today, January 11, 2021, for his college studies.
As their unico hijo leaves for the next chapter in his life, Charlene Gonzalez and Aga Muhlach prepare themselves as well for their new stage in parenthood.
In her send-off post, Charlene admits that letting go of one's child is easier said than done.
She begins in her caption: "As a mom, you imagine & know that someday, that day will come but you always think it's too far away for it to be a reality.
"As you leave for college today in Spain, know that we love you very much and we are super proud of you Andres."
Charlene reveals it was a "very difficult decision" to allow Andres to fly to Spain given the health threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At press time, the World Health Organization reports that Spain has over two million confirmed cases of COVID-19.
But the former TV personality says Andres was determined to pursue college in the European country.
"You really wanted to continue your studies on campus and as parents we will be here to support & guide you every step of the way.
"We love you Andres & thank you for always being so kind & for continuously making us proud. Your dad, mama & sister love you so much.
"Have the best time of your life in Spain & continue to make lasting memories, that you will cherish forever.."
The celebrity mom plans to visit her son in Spain later in the year.
How about Andres's twin and Charlene's daughter Atasha? Will she be studying abroad for college?
Charlene reveals Atasha is currently studying college online. She is enrolled at a university in the U.K.
Atasha will attend the on-campus classes the following school year.
Acknowledging she will soon send her daughter off to college, too, Charlene says, "Ang hirap mag-let go for any mom but going off to college will be a wonderful experience for all children. As parents, we provided them wings, but now it’s their turn to fly...
"We love you so much."
Andres and Atasha graduated from college in May 2020.
