Mariel Padilla is currently vacationing in Spain with her grandparents, Raffy and May Sazon, and daughters Isabella, 5, and Gabriela, 2.
A must in their itinerary are trips to theme parks.
In her post on Instagram dated May 20, 2022, Mariel shared an anecdote about soiling her immaculately white Chanel sneakers during a rainy water ride with Isabella in one of the theme parks.
It was quite a disastrous experience for the former It's Showtime host.
But Mariel seemed to have taken it all in stride, even if she came out of it all wet and her Chanel sneakers totally ruined.
It was clear in her post that what mattered to her more than anything else was making her daughter happy.
Mariel wrote in the caption, "My ulirang ina moment!!! This trip is for my kids so everyday we go from one theme park to another.
"I was not prepared for a water ride. Isabella badly wanted to ride this one… daig ko pa ang Aegis na basang basa sa ulan!!!! As in talagang shower na matindi… shampoo na lang ang kulang!!!
"Of course i had extra clothes for Isabella from panty to socks complete because OA mom ako hahahha but for me… nothing!!!"
"Kung si VP Leni nag plantcha para sa daughter niya… ako linaban ko sa basa ang chanel sneakers ko! Its a tie! [emoji] hindi ko na siguro ma live selling ito kasi na haggard ng mabuti [emoji]
"mabuhay lahat ng ulirang ina!!! [emoji]"
Mariel also revealed in a postscript that she tried to save her white sneakers: "p.s. i asked permission no no i begged the ride facilitator if i can leave my shoes…"
She quipped, "Magkasakit na ako sa basa wag lang ang sapatos ko pero hindi pumayag. [emoji] #GoodbyeChanelSneakers"
FYI, a pair of the said all-white sneakers has an estimated price tag of USD2,795 around PHP145,789.99 on online peer-to-peer resale marketplace tradesy.com.
Mariel's post gave her celebrity followers on Instagram a good laugh.
Pinoy Big Brother host Bianca Gonzalez commented, "Maaaa [laughing emojis]"
Actress Nadia Montenegro also reacted, "Hahahahaha Maaaaa! [laughing emojis]"

In Spain, Mariel and her family have been to several tourist spots, including Segovia Cathedral.
