Team Kramer has transformed shopping into a valuable family bonding activity, especially after enduring the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the press launch for their latest endorsement with Mr. DIY on Monday, May 15, 2023, celebrity couple Cheska Garcia and Doug Kramer openly acknowledged that they are occasionally easily swayed when they go shopping with their kids.

This is primarily due to their genuine enjoyment of the experience and their belief that their children deserve it.

As an example, they cited their shopping trip on Mother's Day, May 14, 2023.

"It's not very hard to convince us because we also like to buy things," admitted Cheska.

Reflecting on their shopping experiences, she added, "I love going shopping with my daughters and it's one of our bonding moments."

Doug echoed the sentiment, stating, "We love to go shopping as a family. So yesterday's activity [at Mr. DIY], it's not just shopping. We all bonded and enjoyed at the store."

But even as they enjoy shopping together as a family bonding activity, the couple prioritizes educating their three children—Kendra, 13; Scarlett, 11; and Gavin, 10—about wise spending.

Cheska strongly believes that as parents, they play a crucial role in guiding their children to learn how to budget and make thoughtful purchasing decisions.

In an interview segment during the event, Cheska elaborated on their approach to managing their children's requests during shopping trips.

She emphasized the importance of asking them questions like, "Do you really need it?" or "When was the last time you bought something similar?"

This way, they instill a sense of discernment in their children.

To further support their commitment to responsible spending, Cheska and Doug have created individual bank accounts for each of their children.

Cheska explained, "We also give them a budget... so they all have their own [bank] accounts.

"So with that, we put money there and then we tell them, 'Okay, you learn how to budget your money... Ask yourself if you really need it or you just want it.'

"So it's really just guiding them."

While teaching their children about responsible spending, the couple also doesn't hesitate to indulge their kids occasionally as a way to reward their achievements.

Cheska said, "We're also big in rewarding our kids because, you know, they're also very good kids.

"They excel in their sports. They excel in their schooling. And it's also nice to reward your children and also go shopping with them."
