It seems Jim Bacarro and Saab Magalona, who were supposed to have a "quick romantic getaway," had to put their plans on hold due to an unexpected turn of events.
In an Instagram post uploaded on July 16, 2023, Saab revealed that she and husband Jim had arranged a chance to finally get to watch The Strokes perform in Hong Kong.
After all, the indie rock legends were set to make their much-awaited debut in the city, at the AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 5.
What started as an endearing post about a sweet date abroad became a message of her newfound realization about parental love.

Captioned under Saab's airport photo was: "Love is planning a quick romantic getaway to watch your favorite band in a foreign country."

She continued, "Love is checking in your bags, being in line at immigration, just to cancel the whole thing because of a text from home."

It turned out that moments before their departure, their son Vito fell ill. The podmom shared the news along with a reel of their son.
"Love is returning to your kid with a fever and rash, nursing him back to health and thanking your stars that you weren’t on the plane yet," Saab wrote.
"We’ll have our romantic getaway another time. Still, I’ve fallen deeper in love with my husband because of this [emojis]
"P.S. Vito is doing better today."

This touched the hearts of the couple's followers as they lauded Jim and Saab for putting their kids first.
PERFORMING FOR MUM AND DAD
After making the sensible decision to cancel their trip and prioritize their son's health and well-being, Vito surprised them with a series of song renditions from The Strokes' discography.

"Since Jim and I were supposed to be watching The Strokes right now (see previous post), here’s something even better! [emoji]
"We’ll see you SOMEDAY, @thestrokes… get it???," Saab joked, referring to the song title of what Vito just covered.

Not stopping there, the four-year-old kept asking his dad for one more song to cover.
"I want to sing You Only Live Once," Vito suggested, which is another anthem by the band.
Because Jim was singing something else, Vito interrupted, "Papa, papa, papa, papa, can we sing You Only Live Once?"

Watching the video, it was evident that Vito was already on the mend, looking adorable and full of energy, despite his recent bout of illness.
Saab and Jim, who have been married for eight years, have an older son named Pancho.
