Ellen took to her Instagram Story to share a touching moment involving her husband and her son, Elias Modesto Adarna Cruz.

In a candid video captured by the actress, Derek could be seen picking up Elias from school clad in a white presko sando, yellow pambahay shorts, and casual slippers.
Some netizens were drawn to his chiseled biceps, but most people—including the onlookers—found the pair an endearing sight.
As the day progressed, it was revealed through Ellen's Instagram Story that Elias was headed to his piano lessons after being picked up from school.
DEREK AND ELIAS' BONDING ACTIVITY
Later on the same day, Derek uploaded on his Instagram account, a reel of him and his five-year-old stepson bonding through sports.
The 46-year-old British-Filipino star, who is into golf, captioned his post with, "My little Tiger Woods!"
In the video, he showed Elias how to wear the little boy's carry bag, and taught him proper golf posture.

DOTING STEPDAD
Derek's role as a doting stepdad is not just confined to social media moments.
In a previous interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in September 2022, Derek openly shared his affection and admiration for Elias.
"I will always be there to love and protect Elias. Elias is a very smart and affectionate boy. Sobrang bait and respectful."
He even got a commendation from Elias's biological father, John Lloyd Cruz, Ellen's former boyfriend, for raising Elias with love and care.
