Like many parents, Doug Kramer and Cheska Garcia feel as though time has flown by with their children growing up so quickly.

This sentiment particularly hit home when their eldest, Kendra, turned 15 on June 25, 2024.

Gavin, their youngest and only son, is now 11, and their second daughter, Scarlet, will be entering her teenage years as she turns 13 this November.

Doug is obviously a proud parent seeing his children growing up well.

As he told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainmment Portal) in an interview, "I think they're very responsible and hardworking and very self-motivated ang kids."

PEP.ph briefly chatted with Doug and Chesca during contract renewal with Mr. DIY at the Ayala Malls Feliz in Pasig City on June 26, 2024.

Doug continued, "So us parents, we're just there to guide them, make the best decisions. At the same time, we allow them to be children pa rin.

"So I think that's why time flies so fast when you're enjoying every moment."

DOUG KRAMER AND CHESKA GARCIA's CONSTANT REMINDERS

When asked about their constant "bilin" to the children, Doug stressed the importance of spending quality time with the family.

Reflecting on Kendra turning 15, Doug shared, "You know, 0 to 15, parang sobrang bilis.

"I still remember her very small, doing a lot of fun moments together, then suddenly parang 15 na.

"So I think it's just spending more time, quality time with them and talking with her.

"And it goes for all our children. Ganoon naman kami, very intentional na parents kami."

For her part, Cheska cited having treasured moments with the kids, particularly now that only Gavin and Scarlet are homeschooling.

She has been, in fact, consistent in reorganizing their home classroom for their projects and activities.

She said, "One project that really is close to my heart...every year, my kid's school ends, I redo our homeschool classroom.

"So I reorganize everything. So in other words, para akong nag-i-spring cleaning.

"So, of course, as my children grow older, the more I need things to organize the classroom."

The celebrity mom continued, "What's closest to me is that I am able to decorate and reorganize my children's classroom because I find everything in Mr. DIY.

"Whether it be reorganizing baskets, containers, or maybe school needs that I need to replenish. Everything is there.

"But what makes it close to my heart and why am I able to share it to other moms?

"Because alam naman natin as moms, di ba, we have a budget that we need to follow.

"And you want to make sure that when we talk about these things and when we give tips to other moms, it is something that is doable."

DOUG KRAMER ON KENDRA'S FUTURE

Doug and Cheska also hope that their children will make studies their top priority.

Kendra is about to complete Grade 9 later this year, her second year in a regular school.

With only one year left in junior high, has Kendra decided on her tracks and strand for senior high?

Doug said, "Grade 9 pa lang siya... So grade 10, 11, 12. We still have enough time to really see her interest. So as of now, parang wala."

Whatever path Kendra and her siblings choose, they have the full support of their parents.

As Doug assured, "For me, I want to make sure that she goes into a course that she loves.

"Mahirap yung mag-recommend na lang ako pero ayaw niya. She will not enjoy her college experience.

"So it's important that she discovers what she wants and that's what she will pursue."
