Mylene Dizon reveals that she has no plans to leave an inheritance to her sons, Lucas and Tomas, with former partner Paolo Paraiso.

On Bernadette Sembrano's YouTube vlog uploaded last June 1, 2025, the 48-year-old actress explains her views while giving a tour of her house and hostel in La Union.

Mylene clarifies that the hostel sits on leased land, noting that she currently has no interest in owning property.

"HIndi, naka-lease lang ito," she tells Bernadette then adds, "Unang-una, matanda na ako. Parang, anong gagawin ko sa kanya? Hindi ko naman siya madadala."

For Mylene, purchasing property doesn't seem practical—especially since she has no plans of leaving any to her sons.

I want them to make it on their own.

"I’m a single mom and I have to do both jobs, and I’m a mother of boys...

"And I’ve dated men.

"And I know of some men who don’t know anything about life or don’t know how to navigate your life because they were too spoiled.

"So I don’t want my children to end up that way."

She admits to being a disciplinarian and for a good reason: "I want them to... be maayos.

"Bago ko sila pakawalan or pag pinakawalan ko sila, gusto ko lahat ng tinuturo ko sa kanila, nandiyan pa rin."

MYLENE DIZON's LIFE IN LA UNION

Bernadette asks why Mylene chose to build a hostel in La Union.

Mylene says her love for the beach was a major factor.

"Because dagat is healing, it's super healing.

"Weird ba ako? Kasi minsan tatapak lang ako diyan, tapos feeling ko may energy na it really resets me into I don't know what state that is. But I feel great."

Still about La Union, she mentions that it was around 2013 when she fell in love with the province.

During that time, Mylene found joy in surfing—starting in Baler, Aurora, and later in La Union—especially as she faced financial challenges amid a lack of projects.

She recalls, "Wala akong pera, wala akong trabaho. May dalawang taon akong walang trabaho for some weird reason.

"Ang sabi ng kaibigan ko, it's because of the house na nilipatan ko, medyo bad vibes daw.

"Wala akong trabaho kasi yung soap ko nun, ang dalang akong gamitin, tapos nag-break pa nang pagkahaba-haba.

"E, ganun yun, e, when you're working for a soap, you can't accept another soap... in fear na baka sabay mag-air.

"And dati kasi, iniingatan talaga nila na hindi mag-air nang sabay ang mga soap na [kasama ka]."

Mylene continues, "Ngayon nangyayari, pero as much as possible, [dapat hindi]. Nangyayari by accident, wala nang magawa,

"So yung panahon na yun, humihinto-hinto pa kami, so wala akong magawang ibang trabaho.

"Tapos yun, nung una nag-Baler kami, tapos sabi ko, 'Ah, balikan ko nga yung La Union.' Tapos ayun, hindi na ako tumigil."

It was during a solo trip to La Union that Mylene first experienced her “stoke,” a rush she shared with newfound friends she met along the way.

"My first stoke—stoke is that feeling of euphoria from anything generally surfing, it's a surf termmy first stoke, happened here.

"And yung mga kasama ko dun sa surf trip na yun, hindi ko talaga sila kaibigan, nakilala ko lang sila."

The place and these newfound friends eventually became her source of comfort, leading her to consider La Union as her second home.

"Hanggang ngayon, magkakaibigan kami. Sila yung close friends ko dito. As in, ninang na ako ng mga anak nila. Ganun!"
