Time management has become Megan Young’s biggest challenge now that she’s a working mom.
The former Miss World titleholder opened up about her journey as a first-time mother in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the Megan Beauty event held on November 6, 2025, at Tablo restaurant in Quezon City.
Currently, Megan is juggling family life and caring for her son Leon while continuing to take on work opportunities.
"Definitely, time management is one of the biggest struggles I have," Megan admitted.
"On one hand, I want to continue with my career and be able to provide more so I can save more for Leon.
"At the same time, there’s that push and pull because I want to be there for him every waking hour."
For now, Megan powers through her days on just four hours of sleep as she embraces the demands of motherhood.
"Nakakatulog naman kahit papaano...increments of four hours. So I feel like okay na ako doon. Kung meron akong apat na oras na tulog, continue with the day na," she shared.
Despite her busy schedule, Megan remains very hands-on when it comes to caring for Leon.
But she’s grateful for the support of her family and their trusted house helper, Cel—whom she already considers like a sister.
"When I wake up in the morning, ako na agad ang mag-aalaga kay Leon kasi usually throughout the day busy kami sa work," Megan said.
"So we're lucky enough to have extra help with taking care of Leon. But in the morning, paggising ko ng morning, nakikita ko na siya.
"And the way that he smiles at me really brightens my day. Na kahit na sobrang antok na antok ako, you know, I'm ready to take care of him, ready to start the day with him."
She recalled the early months of motherhood: "Siguro for the first two months, it was really just me, Mikael, and my mom was also here to help take care of Leon.
"And we had... our help—who's been with us for almost 14 years—you know, take care of Leon. We had help throughout the night.
"And then eventually when I wanted to get back to work, we made a conscious effort to seek out help when it comes to taking care of Leon."
Still, Megan clarified that she and Mikael remain Leon’s primary caregivers, only seeking help when work takes them away.
"When I say help, it means na, lahat kaming nagtutulong-tulong para alagaan si Leon.
"Hindi lang ako mag-isa. Hindi lang sila yung nag-aalaga sa kanya. Kundi lahat kami.
"So parang I feel like, we're one big family, even though it's just Mikael and I as husband and wife, and then we have dalawang help sa bahay.
"It's really a family effort talaga, because we treat them like our family, you know.
"Cel has been with us for almost 14 years. She's basically a sister to me.
"So I'm really happy na we're blessed to meet such great and loving people in our lives. I'm just so grateful for that."
Technology also plays a big role in helping Megan stay connected with Leon when she’s away.
"I'm always texting [them], 'Oh, pag nasa work ako, pwede ipa-send ang picture.' May CCTV kami sa bahay so sisilip ako kung umi-inom na ba siya ng milk niya.
"So when I'm out and about, definitely, I always feel that separation anxiety with Leon. But as soon as I get home, talagang ligo agad tapos ako na mag-aalaga sa kanya."
