Iza Calzado has plenty of favorite moments from The Devil Wears Prada 2, which stars Hollywood A-listers Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on Thursday, April 20, 2026, following the film’s private screening—made possible by Mercedes-Benz Philippines at the VIP Cinema of Rockwell Mall in Makati City—the actress revealed the scene that resonated with her most.
For Iza, it was Miranda Priestly’s (Meryl Streep) exchange with Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci) during their major event at Milan Fashion Week.
“I really loved that moment when Miranda looked at Nigel and then realized that... and she said, ‘Did I take you for granted?’” Iza recalled.
“The lead up to that, yung realization niya, when she was saying na, ‘He won't. He doesn't like… want to.’ Parang ganyan.
“And then when she turned, the expression on the GOAT's (greatest of all time) face, the Meryl Streep, was just, ‘ugh.’
“Parang that was the... It felt so real and human. And parang kasi, di ba, yung parang ice queen, and suddenly she had this vulnerable moment. Ramdam mo talaga yun, di ba?
“Iyak talaga ako doon. That, to me, was my favorite scene.”

Iza was also able to relate to the movie on a personal level.
“I think kasi when you think about that, I'm, siguro, in my 40s, ano? I've been in this industry for 20-plus years.
“I know that I personally may have taken some people for granted and I myself have, I've felt taken for granted din so parang you kind of yeah. It's human. Parang naka-relate… ako.”
What struck her most, however, was the scene where Miranda opens up to Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), encouraging her to push through with writing a book that details both her reality and the sacrifices behind it.
“Masakit pero totoo yung moment na iyon,” Iza said.
“Because talking about motherhood, when Miranda was saying, ‘Write that book. Tell them that I missed out so much on the life of my kids because that's, you know, they should know. That's what it takes.’
“And she said, ‘I love working.’”
Having built a successful career in the entertainment industry, Iza admitted that balancing work and family remains a constant struggle for her as a working mom.
Relating to the film, she said, “I'm like, ‘I am Miranda in some way.’ But also, I'm also doing my best.
“I want to be as hands-on as I can be, but I also love working. You know, it's such a struggle and yun yung may kapalit, may kapalit talaga. Sakit.”

She went on to describe this side of motherhood as truly heartbreaking—one that pushes her to treasure every moment she spends with her daughter Deia.
In her words: “That's the part of motherhood that breaks your heart.
“And the part that I love about it is that those moments that you are, you know, at home doing your best with what you're given or what you're allowing yourself to share with your family, with my child, that's it, e.
“Kasi nga alam mong hindi laging nandiyan, e. So when she's there parang I really treasure it.
“Of course, may moments na, ‘I'm doing work. You have to... Can, can somebody take her to the park?’ Or ganito.
“But when, when I can be fully present for my child and we are fully present together, grabe, ang sarap sa pakiramdam.”
Iza reiterated that “the best part of motherhood” is simply about “just feeling… just being present.”
For her, that presence means holding Deia close.
“You know, she's… anong sabi niya ngayon, ‘Every day, I'm in your arms.’
“Ano, sabi niya, ‘I'm in mama's arms. I love you.’ And now, she knows that every day. It's a gift. It's a gift to be able to just have her in my arms.”
