Kendra Kramer defended her parents, Doug and Chesca Kramer, against online criticism accusing them of being controlling and taking advantage of their children.
On Sunday, August 16, Kendra addressed the comments on Instagram, saying she felt compelled to share her perspective as their daughter.
“I wanted to come out and say that, from a daughter’s point of view, it is very sad and disappointing to see all the hate and negativity about our family and most especially my parents,” she wrote.
Kendra also made it clear that releasing a statement was her own decision.
“And no, my parents did not tell me to write this. I’m doing it on my own accord."

Kendra says showbiz was her choice
One of the issues was about entering show business.
According to the 17-year-old teen, her parents had previously asked whether she genuinely wanted to pursue a career in the industry.
“My parents have spoken to me before and asked if I truly wanted to be in the show business world. They asked if it was something I wanted, and I said yes."
Kendra said she genuinely enjoys modeling and being able to do it with her family.
And she firmly denied that her parents had profited from or capitalized on her, saying, “My parents have never ever taken advantage of me.”
Kendra pushes back against claims that her parents control her
Kendra further refuted claims that Doug and Chesca dictate her life, saying she has a social life outside of her family’s public activities.
“I have my own social life—with my sports and with my friends,” she wrote.
“They are NOT controlling parents, only caring ones who want the best for me and my siblings.”
Her parents have also been supportive of her athletic interests, particularly her passion for swimming.
“My dad and my mom guide me with my sports. I love swimming so much and it’s only because of them I was able to find such passion for that sport."
For Kendra, having her parents involved in her life is a source of comfort.
She explained that she often asks her father to accompany her to events because she wants him beside her.
As an introvert, having her parents around gives her “comfort and security,” particularly because she is still a minor.
“Please do not come out and say my parents are controlling my life, they care about me and I stand by that,” Kendra said.

Kendra praises Doug and Chesca
Kendra ended her post by sharing what her parents mean to her.
Her father, she said, is the “most generous, most kind, and most protective person," adding that she asks him to accompany her to events because his presence makes her feel secure.
She similarly praised her mother, describing Cheska as “the most God-fearing, kind-hearted, and humble person."
“My parents are my role models in my life. They are the happiest, most loving couple I know. I pray one day I may find a relationship like theirs.”
Kendra ended her lengthy statement by appealing to people to stop directing negativity toward her family.
“We are not a perfect family, but we put Christ in the center of all our lives.
“Please stop the negativity and hate. It hurts me to see the people I love getting spoken about like this online.
“My parents are the greatest people I know and I love my family to the bottom of my heart.”
Following her post, friends and supporters left messages of encouragement in the comments section.
