How not to spoil a kid like Alonzo Muhlach

Alonzo Muhlach with his dad Nino (left) and mom Abby (right) believe that parenting is "team work."

Parenting, according to Nino Muhlach, is “team work.”

Because Alonzo is both a student and an actor, his parents came up with this set-up, “Ang mommy niya ang tutok sa school niya.

“Ako naman, tutok sa work niya.”

How do they create a balance in the kid’s schedule?

One of Nino’s major considerations was Alonzo’s comfort and convenience.

As much as “priority niya ang school,” his sleep has to be factored in.

At Alonzo's birthday party last month, the 44-year-old dad said, “…meron naman siyang van. Binilhan ko siya ng van, kumpleto yun.

“Doon din siya natutulog ‘tapos first honor pa rin siya, kaya impressed talaga ako, and he deserves all of it.”

NOT SPOILED. How not to spoil an adorable kid like Alonzo?

1. Teach him what is right.

2. Teach him to do something good.

“…Ever since three years old siya, sinasanay namin siyang... dinadala namin siya sa orphanage.

NO SIBLING RIVALRY. Alonzo has a 14-year-old kuya named Alessandro Muhlach.

Aren’t the two experiencing any sibling rivalry?

Are the two brothers close?

Like kung nasa labas kami, sasabihin niya, 'Papa, let’s buy food for Kuya.'”
