While a lot of pregnant woman would prefer to wait for their due date relaxing at home, Iya Villania does the opposite.
At the Say Hello To All Things Baby event of Baby Company held on August 6, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "E, kaya ko naman, e.
"Of course hindi ko na kayang mag-malling buong araw, lalo na kasi the past two weeks, I’ve been doing a lot of nesting, which includes having to go to the mall, buying stuff, then the house."
She resumed, "So hindi ko na kaya yung isang bagsakan na.
"Kailangan medyo i-ano, I have to spread it throughout the week para hindi masyadong mabugbog sa isang araw."
There’s no doubt that physically, she’s ready to become a mom. How about emotionally?
"Nooooooo!" she screamed, then laughed.
"Hindi, sobrang anxious ko malaman kung gaano kasakit talaga.
"Kasi kahit sinong mommy na kausapin ko, hindi nila ma-describe yung sakit.
"Siyempre kahit papaano, gusto kong ihanda yung sarili ko kung gaano kasakit ba yun.
"Yung isang mom, yung pagkaka-explain sa akin, ‘Imagine, Iya, it’s like a jackhammer opening your hips.’
"Sabi ko, ‘Patay ano kayang feeling nun.
"Yun lang, I’m anxious how painful it’s gonna be.
"I’m sure pag naramdaman ko na yung sakit, hindi na ako magiging anxious. Okay na alam ko na.”
How’s her nursery? Is she done buying all the stuff she and the baby needs?
"Halos tapos na siya, there are a few things na lang that I need to fit.
"Kulang ko mga playpen, mga books. Pero the essentials, I think are covered na.”
In the meantime, she and Drew Arellano have been practicing parenting lately.
"Drew and I are excited, kararating lang ng co-sleeper namin. So naka-set up na siya sa tabi ng kama ko.
"So ngayon, napa-practice ko na how it should be pag sleep ka na do’n.
"'Tapos si Drew pini-pretend niya na nandun na rin si Primo.
"Parang, ‘Hi, hi baby boy. Hi, Primo, hi, my love.'"
They plan to name their baby boy, Antonio Primo.
