One time, while watching TV, Patrick Garcia’s eldest daughter Chelsea saw him hugging Ellen Adarna.
It was a clip from the actor’s presscon for the series Langit Lupa.
Patrick’s wife Nikka noted, “Very careful si Papa, malayo si Papa. So ka-hug niya si Ellen.”
Chelsea remarked, “Mama, Daddy has a new wife.”
Given the nature of her husband’s job, Nikka said it is important to “explain” what’s happening.
Nikka then told her daughter, “It’s just the work of Daddy na he’s just playing pretend.”
Even Patrick sees to it that he tells his children the highlights of his taping.
His wife said, “Like when Pat comes home, kahit hindi nagtatanong yung bata, ini-explain niya, ‘Daddy went to work today, This is what Daddy did in halibawa yung series na Annaliza…’
“Di ba, nakikita niya, ‘Bakit Daddy has another baby girl? May wife siya?’
“Marami silang tanong, and we just have to patiently explain it to them.”
Chelsea and Baby Patrice, who recently turned one, are both very pretty, does she see them entering showbiz, too, like their dad?
Nikka replied, "For me, in that area, I will always leave it up to my husband.
"When I was asked before, sabi ko, kung gusto nila.
"But come to think of it, kung ano yung sa tingin ng husband ko kasi matagal na siya, alam niya kung paano yung industriya na ito."
Patrick joined the industry at the age of 11. Remember Carlo, his famous character in a hotdog commercial?
Nikka resumed, “I’m not even artista, and I still get shocked sometimes na ganyan pala iyan.
“This is his craft, this is his world, so if he thinks it’s good for the kids then I trust him fully to make that decision.”
The interview took place at the event of P&G Philippines and Robinsons Supermarket.
