Yasmien Kurdi says she is not a materialistic wife: "Hindi talaga ako mahilig sa alahas.

Yasmien Kurdi's showbiz comeback in 2013 was partly prompted by her postpartum depression.

She had just given birth to Ayessa, her unica hija with husband Rey Soldevilla, when she felt unexplainable sadness.

The Kapuso star told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during her contract renewal with GMA-7, last January 25, “Parang nalulungkot ako."

At that time, her attention was focused on her home.

"Parang, 'This is it, pansit,' parang ganun ang feeling."

A party reconnected her with GMA bosses.

But she had no regrets about her two-year hiatus even if back then, she was already the princess of afternoon drama.

COUPLE GOALS. She and Rey have been together for 11 years.

What's their secret to a happy and solid relationship?

She quickly replied, “Siguro dapat meron kang mahabang understanding sa isa't-isa.

Didn't Rey ask her to change?

She's grateful her husband's only "bisyo" is eat the food she cooks.

Turning 28 last January 25, what was her husband's gift to her?

"Sabi niya, bibilhan niya 'ko ng cake,” she said laughing.

She's not a materialistic wife?

Yasmien replied, “Hindi, e.

"Minsan kapag may event.

Didn't her husband ask her about the gift she wants him to give?

"Tinatanong niya ko, kaso wala talaga akong gusto.

"Binigyan niya pala ko ng Hero 5," referring to a water-proof camera.

FAMILY PLANNING. Aren't they planning to have a baby borther or sister for Ayessa?

"Ang plan namin, pag mga six or seven years old si Ayessa."

Yasmien revealed doing the "calendar method," where she keeps track of her menstrual cycle and abstain from unprotected sec when she is most likely to become pregnant.

She's also using a mobile app called Shettles method.

The StarStruck alumna said, “Nalalaman din dun ang percentage kung boy or girl ang magiging anak mo, may mga position din.

"May book iyan, yun ang binabasa ko.

"Siyempre, depende rin iyan kay Rey, if it’s meant to be."
