Regine Velasquez is proud of being a "babaeng bakla," hence, she has no qualms about portraying gay and gay-like roles on television.
Her latest show Full House Tonight also features gay performers.
How does she make her switch from "babaeng bakla" to a mom once she's home?
Laughing, the Asia's Songbird said, "Siyempre hindi naman ako ganun."
But there was an instance her son was heard saying "barlog."
The wife of Ogie Alcasid related, "Isang time, kinukuwento ng teacher.
"Tinanong daw si Nate, ‘Where's your mom? Your mommy didn't bring you to school?’
"Sabi raw niya, ‘Hay naku! My Mom is barlog.'
"Borlog, pero barlog ang pagkakasabi niya.
"Sabi niya, ‘She's tired. She came from a show that's why she's barlog.'"
"Borlog" is the gay term for "tulog."
Where did Nate get such word?
"Hindi ko alam! Actually, baka nga sa asawa ko pa nakuha yun.
"E, kasi siya ang mahilig mag-gay language at ang anak niya, tinuturuan niya ng gay lingo.
"At saka, ganun naman na tayong magsalita. Yung asawa ko nga, ganun magsalita.
"Okay lang yun."
IF IT HAPPENS, IT HAPPENS. What if Nate will turn out to be gay?
"Siyempre, pinagpi-pray ko na hindi,” she said during Full House Tonight's presscon.
Regine resumed, “Kung mangyari yun, ano ang gagawin ko? Just accept it.
“There’s nothing wrong with it. I mean, hindi naman yun sakit.”
At the end of the day, every mom's ultimate wish is for her son to be happy.
"As long as he'll be happy, he knows what is right and what is wrong, may respeto siya sa mga tao at sa amin, he knows Jesus Christ, we're good."
