Diana Zubiri and husband Andy Smith join the list of celebrity parents who chose not to hire nannies.

Of the two, the Encantadia actress is more experienced because she had her first son, Joaquin, with late husband Alex Lopez, in 2009.

Last year, she gave birth to Baby Aliyah Rose, her daughter with Andy.

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last February 14, 2017, for her PEPtalk shoot, the celebrity mom recounted  her husband's struggles as a first-time dad.

"Every thing, kumbaga, blank, zero, wala siyang idea kung papaano.

"Una muna is pagkarga, so nung nanganak ako, sabi ko, 'Halika dito, wag ka matakot, kargahin mo.'

"Natatakot siya, sobrang liit 'tapos sobrang lambot, alam mo yun, baka daw mapilayan niya or whatever.

The couple came up with a "division of labor."

Diana said, "Ang usapan namin since nagkaroon ako ng trabaho, siya talaga yung pinaka-hands-on pag wala ako.

"Pero pag nandun ako, ayun, hati kami."

Andy's online business allows him to work from home, so he made his wife a promise when she was pregnant.

"In fairness, for the last six months, ganun naman."

There was one time she overheard Andy having a hard time putting their six-month-old daughter to sleep.

"I have to wake up early so natulog ako nang maaga, 'tapos naririnig ko sila nag-aaway.

"Inaano niya, 'Matulog ka na, I’m so tired, di ko na kaya, ano ba gagawin ko?'"

Diana would constantly hear Andy ask their baby, "'Ano posisyon gusto mo? Ano gusto mo?

In the end, she commended her Filipino-Australian husband for all his efforts.

If you go through his Instagram feed, you will see Andy and Aliyah's nightly routine: the baby girl falls asleep faster when her dad raps.

As early as now, Diana can tell that Aliyah is going to be a "daddy's girl."

She would often tease her baby, "'Sakit na ng leeg mo anak nakaikot ka pa diyan.'"

Watch for the PEPtalk with Diana soon.
