LJ Reyes calls her parenting style "old school," which means her method shuns gadgets.

Hence, her son Aki does not have a tablet or iPad, but has a cellphone "in case of emergency."

The Kapuso actress' major problem with gadgets is its effects on a kid's social and physical skills.

The young mom also pointed out the gadgets' ill effects on health.

Hence, LJ has been doing her best to introduce him to various sport activities, including Philippine games.

She related, "One time nga, may ginagawa ako sa bahay, nangungulit na maglaro kami.

"Sabi ko, ‘Anak, huwag makulit. Ayan maglaro ka ng sungka,’" aka "sowing game" or "count and capture."

LJ resumed, "As in may sungka kami sa bahay. Ayun naglaro siya ng mag-isa."

She also hopes that Aki will experience what her fun childhood was like.

"As a mom, I want my kid to grow up knowing ang mga nakalakhan kong laro at mga sports."

This summer, Aki will be attending a lot of sports clinics.

"Gusto niyang mag-basketball, soccer, swimming, at badminton.

"Paisa-isa muna at mahirap ang kalaban,’” LJ said, laughing.

Just like his mom, Aki loves sports.

"Noong bata kasi ako, iba't ibang sports kaya kong laruin.
