Gloria Diaz was one of the first to know about her daughter Isabelle Daza's pregnancy.
The 66-year-old former Miss Universe couldn't hide her excitement when PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had a chat with her last Tuesday night, October 10.
"I'm so happy. I hope everything goes well," said Gloria after watching Tadashi Shoji's Fall/Winter 2017 showcase at The Manila Peninsula in Makati City.
Belle and her husband, French businessman Adrien Semblat, officially announced the actress's pregnancy last September.
Gloria went on to narrate how Belle broke the news to her:
"[Belle] called me up and she said, 'Mom, please, I'm so sick and this... come to the house.'
"Of course, I was worried. I did not do na my exercise or anything.
"I went straight to her house, nervous and heart pounding.
"Lo and behold, Belle was there and Adrien, [they said], 'We have something to tell you...'
"'What?' I was so scared. [Then Belle said], 'I'm pregnant.'
"I thought I was gonna faint. I was so happy!"
PREGNANCY TIPS. Like most soon-to-be grandmoms, Gloria gave her daughter "too many" pregnancy tips, but Belle "doesn't listen."
Her most important tip: "Eat everything, just don't eat sugar."
She also wants her daughter to be extra careful.
"I hope she slows down and gets well."
When asked if Belle opens up to her about her pregnancy, Gloria shook her head.
She added, "I don't want to know anything. I don't want to talk nga about it, e, but she's okay."
Finally, asked if she wants Belle to have a girl or a boy, the former Miss Universe answered, "Girl, boy, bakla, tomboy, okay lang!"
