Bettina Carlos has this advice for moms who have makulit kids, who cannot be stopped with masungit stare.

The key word, she says, is "balanced."

In an interview with host at the launch of PLDT Fibr launch, she tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "I am a very balanced mother.

"I'm strict when it comes to the things she needs to do. Strict ako sa needs."

Under their non-negotiable list are the following: studying before playing, finishing an assignment, eating and sleeping on time, to name a few.

She continues, "But I am also gracious.

"I give her grace, I loosen up on things on times when it's okay kasi bata siya."

It really is imperative to remember that your kid is just a kid. If he or she wants to play while bathing, then do not call him/ her "pasaway."

Bettina adds, "I can't be so strict to the point that I squeeze out the life of my daughter.

"Kasi bata siya, kawawa naman, minsan lang maging bata.

"I don't want her to grow old and look back on a sad childhood."

Going back to "balanced" parenting, Bettina stresses, "If you're too lenient, you'll end up having a spoiled brat.

"If you're too strict, you'll have a rebellious one.

"So you have to know how to be strict, but at least be firm.”

FINDING A PARTNER. Although Bettina manages to raise her daughter solo, she admits to wishing that someday, she will find a partner in life.

“I do have that desire in my heart. I think, every single parent has that longing,” the 29-year-old TV host-actress says.

“But what's clear with me is that I'm not looking for a partner to have a partner—to share the bills with, the chores with.

“I just want to have a partner because I want to have more children.

“And I want to grow up with someone. I want to grow old with someone.”

However, Bettina is not pressuring herself to find a man whom she can spend the rest of her life with.

She lets God decide on this matter.

“I don't know if that's also the Lord's plan for me. If it is, thank you, Lord. Salamat po, makakarami pa ako. If not, I'm happy already,” she concludes.
