Camille Prats on why she picked Nala Camilla as the name of their baby girl: "Nala means beloved, so that's what I wanted. And her second name is Camilla, which is from my name naman."

GMA-7 actress/host Camille Prats is enjoying her time as mom to Baby Nala, her daughter with husband VJ Yambao.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with the Kapuso mommy at an event last Wednesday, November 22, where she talked about the adjustments she has to make while taking care of their newborn.

Camille was invited as the celebrity guest during the launch of SM Green Bag's limited edition at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

PEP.ph first asked why the 32-year-old mom chose the name Nala Camilla for their baby girl.

Camille explained, "Nala means beloved, so that's what I wanted. And her second name is Camilla, which is from my name naman.

"Kasi I wanted to name her after me somehow kasi I never thought I'd have a baby girl.

"Parang hindi yun yung isa sa mga naisip ko para sa sarili ko so she's really a special gift for me."

ADJUSTMENTS. It's been nine years since Camille first became a mom.

The Kapuso actress admitted that taking care of their newborn felt very new the second time around.

Camille said this is her new normal and has overcome the challenges of taking care of Baby Nala.

She narrated, "Slowly naman, nakapag-adjust na.

"Although yung first month was really challenging kasi grabe yung puyat.

"The first week, gising siya sa gabi and most babies are really like that pala.

"So ayun, grabe yung puyat and slowly nakapag-adjust na.

"And then also, there was this challenge of breastfeeding.

"Kasi talagang nanibago ako in a major way kasi nine years old na si Nathan."

The biggest challenge for Camille was when she realized she was not producing enough milk for her baby.

"It was a bit challenging at first and siyempre yung frustration of not having enough milk yet."

She added, "So ayun, pero na-push naman after a month of rest.

"Last week, I went back to taping Mars, so now I'm slowly easing my way back to work.

"I just had to make sure that I had enough milk na naiwan for Nala.

"I want to make sure na hundred percent breast milk ko lang yung iinumin niya."

Camille is grateful to have known a group of mommies, who share information about dealing with her situation.

She said, "Napaka-fortunate ng mommies ngayon na grabe yung support.

"There are so many mommy groups, so many events na puro mommies yung pumupunta.

"There are so many products also na mom-related.

"Iba yung support group ng moms, and talagang I get messages from different people.

"'Don't be stressed, there are things you're supposed to do para mag-increase yung milk supply mo.'

"Nakikinig lang ako, I just take it all in and ginagawa ko lang yung mga advice nila.

"Fortunately, okay talaga siya 'tapos ganun na rin yung ginagawa ko to other moms.

"I would get messages on Instagram 'tapos tinatanong ako how to increase breast milk supply.

"Kasi nga nakikita nila, nagpo-post ako whenever I pump. I just share also what I know, what I do.

"Kasi iba rin yung feeling na alam mo sa sarili mo na you're giving the best to your child, ganun lang."

MOMMY GANG. Aside from Camille, Pauleen Luna and Nikki Gil also became moms recently.

Camille said she has also been keeping up with both Pauleen and Nikki about their journey as first-time moms.

Camille told PEP.ph, "Si Pauleen and I are very close and we would always talk about having a newborn and increasing breast milk supplies.

"I would just keep on encouraging her na, 'Ganun talaga iyan mars, sa umpisa kulang talaga.'

"Ganun, non-stop checking on each other."

Camille said she considers Nikki as her "classmate."

She explained, "Nikki and I have the same doctor so ang tawag ko sa kanya 'classmate' kasi lagi kaming sabay sa check-up.

"So when I found out that she already gave birth, I congratulated her on Instagram and then we were sharing our birthing stories naman."

THE KUYAS. Camille also noted the difference between taking care of a baby boy and a baby girl.

She related, "It's very different kasi the boys are very rough.

"Like si Nathan kasi, nasanay ako sa kanya na yung laro na gusto niya, very physical.

"Although, he's also very malambing.

"Si Ice, ganun din. He's a sensitive boy and also very malambing and very expressive to us.

"Pero iba talaga yung play nila especially with their dad."

She added, "Almost binata na yung mga kids namin and having a newborn, parang everything, the entire experience is really new to me and my husband."

PEP also asked how her two sons, Nathan and Ice, have adjusted to being kuya to Baby Nala.

She said, "Super lambing and super kulit din, as in lagi nilang iniistorbo pag natutulog si baby.

"But you know, they always want to be around her, nag-aagawan kung sino yung kakarga.

"They're very welcoming of Nala and, I guess, because they're older, parang na-excite sila na they have a baby sister."

NALA'S BAPTISM. What are their plans for Nala's baptism?

Camille answered, "It's gonna be held this December kasi gusto ko bago mag-Christmas, nabinyagan na siya."

She added, "Simple lang, we want to spend it with just really close family and friends.

"Hindi naman magarbo, but it's going to be a celebration kasi maraming hindi nakakakita sa kanya na close friends namin.

"So it's also the time for them to meet her."
