At 36, Luis Manzano already looks to the future.
While some individuals avoid the topic of marriage and children, Luis revels at the thought.
He told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and a group of reporters, “It puts a smile on my face.
“Di ba, some people are afraid of that thought?
“But ako, I entertain it, I enjoy it.
“I can’t wait for the thought of it to be a reality.”
PEP.ph caught up with Luis and his dad Edu Manzano at the Shakey’s #Lucky2018 event yesterday, January 10, in Paseo de Magallanes along SLEX, Makati.
KIND OF PARENT. When asked whether Luis already has an inkling of what kind of parent he will be, the Kapamilya host admitted that he is “a bit excited and scared to find out.”
The son of Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano remarked in jest, “I’m sure yung mga pinagtatawanan kong parents na, ‘Grabe naman, ang OA naman alagaan.’
“Kapag nadapa yung anak nila, ‘Oh my god!’
“Feeling ko ganun din ako.
“Kasi siyempre, kailangan mo itago yun [takot], e. ‘Anak, it’s okay.’
“Pero deep inside, ‘Nadapa ang anak ko!’”
But on a serious note, Luis pointed out, “Siguro, I’d like to think na, I was raised okay.
“So, whatever my dad put in, whatever my mom put in, di ba, I’m thankful.
“Siguro that’s the perfect balance.
“I think whatever they put in, my mom and dad, that’s how exactly I would raise my child, too.”
Luis holds great respect for both his parents whom he described to have the “gift of influence.”
He briefly explained, “I guess it’s how they treat people. It’s so natural.
“For me, it’s magic to watch… how a simple rub on a shoulder or a pat on the back might mean so much to a person for my dad and my mom.”
Luis had repeatedly expressed his readiness for marriage in previous interviews, but the I Can See Your Voice host added that he was still waiting for his girlfriend, 25-year-old-Kapamilya actress Jessy Mendiola, to be ready herself.
