Scarlet Snow Belo is easily one of the most popular kids on social media these days.
On Instagram, the toddler has over 2,063,975 followers—and she's just turning three years old today!
But with so much attention surrounding her, does Scarlet Snow have an inkling of her sustaining popularity among the masses?
According to her parents, she doesn't.
During Scarlet Snow's first endorsement event with Red Ribbon on March 2, at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, Drs. Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho Jr. talked briefly about their daughter's knowledge on Instagram.
Hayden said, "Well, she doesn’t know the terminologies, but surprisingly Scarlet sort of understands because I’ve showed her before.
"[I said,] ‘Scarlet, this is Instagram.’
"Hindi namin ito bini-baby, e.
"Parang yung belief namin sa kanya sobrang taas. We believe she can do anything.
"So, I explained to her before that this is Instagram, and whenever we post a video of you, people like it, people watch it.
"There’s so many people who care for you, so many people who love you.
"Yung level of exposure kung gaanong karaming followers, I don’t think she understands.
"She can only count to a hundred maybe, but not yet two million, so… "
Vicki added, "She has zero idea of how popular she is or what’s happening.
"Hindi talaga niya alam."
STAYING NORMAL. As the beauty doctor of the stars, Vicki has seen first-hand how people tend to get carried away when they meet their idols, and it worries her to see it happen with Scarlet Snow.
She told the press, "Of course, I’ve been with stars all my life, and I’ve seen how [people] take pictures—to the face.
"And they do that to Scarlet.
"So parang, it’s medyo traumatic for her because she doesn’t know what’s going on.
"I think this is very hard.
"People also sometimes don’t realize she’s only a baby."
Because of this, Vicki and Hayden take extra caution in protecting Scarlet Snow from such encounters, and ensure that their daughter continues to live a normal life.
The mother of three continued, "We hardly go out in Manila. What we do, [Scarlet Snow] goes to friends’ houses where she plays.
"We bring her to school that’s mostly foreigners.
"I mean, it’s mostly Koreans, Japanese, Russians. So hindi nila kilala kung sino si Scarlet, so they treat her like anybody.
"We go abroad a lot.
"In Japan, hardly anybody knew who she was, so she was able to run around and be a normal child."
At the end of the day, Scarlet Snow is just another ordinary child born into an extraordinary life.
