Jolina Magdangal expects to give birth to second child on May 28

Jolina Magdangal admits to worrying about the effect of gestational diabetes on her second pregnancy: "Hirap din ng may gestational diabetes, kahit kontrolado mo na ang pagkain, di mo parin masabi yung effect sa baby."

ABS-CBN host-actress Jolina Magdangal has officially started her countdown to welcome Baby Vika Anya.

She is expected to give birth tomorrow, May 28.

The Magandang Buhay host admitted that she's feeling a mix of emotions now that she's about to meet her second baby with husband Mark Escueta.

The Kapamilya talent shared her thoughts on Instagram earlier today, May 27, and wrote, "This is it!!! Countdown begins. Hindi ko na maintindihan ang feelings ko.

"Parang rollercoaster, syempre nangingibabaw ang happiness, pero may mga pasundot sundot na kaba, takot at madaming di ko maexplain.

"Isang tulog nalang simula na ang..."

The 39-year-old celebrity mom, however, revealed one of her biggest worries about her second pregnancy.

On Friday, May 25, Jolina revealed that she had acquired gestational diabetes during her pregnancy.

She wrote, "Nagpaultrasound ako today, ok naman si Vika, medyo lagpas lang ng konti ang weight nya para sa age nya ngayon.

"Hirap din ng may gestational diabetes, kahit kontrolado mo na ang pagkain, di mo parin masabi yung effect sa baby.

"Medyo nababahala ako."

According to MayoClinic.org, gestational diabetes occurs when moms develop high blood sugar during their pregnancy. This could lead to several complications, including the baby growing larger than usual, premature birth, or pre-eclampsia, among many others.
