Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano have this agreement as working parents: at least one of them should be with their son Seve.
But in those days their schedules overlap, they make sure there's a family member around to watch Baby Seve.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press, Toni said, "If hindi maiiwasan na dalawa kami wala sa house, we make sure that there’s a family member who will be with Seve para he doesn’t grow up in a home na wala siyang family member na nakikita."
Toni is grateful because her younger sister also volunteers to take care of Seve from time to time.
"So minsan si Alex, pag wala siyang madalas na schedule or gagawing commitments. Yun, nag-i-stay si Alex."
When asked about the kind of mom Alex will be in the future, the Kapamilya host/actress/singer replied, "I think Alex will be the coolest mom and the most fun na mom for her kids.
"I think she will be that kind of mom. Yung parang, ‘Gusto mo yan, okay gawin mo… Masaya ka diyan, okay…’"
PEP.ph caught up with Toni and Alex at their press launch as endorsers of Nature's Spring, Lola Café, Quezon City, last Thursday, August 2.
TITA ALEX IN THE HOUSE
It took quite some time however before Toni allowed Alex to babysit Baby Seve.
The Home Sweetie Home star admitted, "Pinag-isipan kong maigi iyan nung mga una-una.
"Aminin ko nung mga first three months, napaka-fragile ni Seve.
"Ultimo ako, hindi ko alam kung kaya ko siyang alagaan. Medyo ano lang si Alex nun…
"Ano lang si Alex nun, para lang painting si Seve nun sa kanya. Tumitingin lang siya, taga-observe.
"Pero nung nag-six months na, ayan na, umuupo na siya nagko-crawl na siya, naipagkakatiwala ko naman siya kay Alex."
But she and Paul had two requests—the first was about including Seve in her YouTube vlog; the second was about makeup.
Toni said, "Ang problema naman ni Paul kay Alex, pagdating naming after one week, may vlog na lumalabas. Naiva-vlog si Seve nang wala nang permission na nagaganap.
"Nung una nawi-weirduhan siya pero after a while, na-realize niya na that’s who his sister is.
"So wala na, accepted na ni Paul.
"Monitored lang yung kay Seve, hindi naman siya every vlog.
"If you notice, there’s only like two."
Toni also asked Alex to remove her makeup before she hugs or kisses Baby Seve.
She explained, "Kasi napansin ko, pag-alis ni Alex parang kamot nang kamot si Seve.
"'Tapos pagkita ko, naku, naka-shimmer ang pisngi ni Seve. May mga highlighter…
"Sabi ko, ‘Bakit may makeup?’ Sabi nung yaya, ‘E kasi kiniss-kiss po ni Alex.’"
Alex said she is fine with the rules so long as she can tease Seve.
The 30-year-old comedienne said, "Ako lang ang pinapayagan nilang mang-asar kay Seve at magpaiyak.
"Kasi di ba, ‘the more you hate, the more you love.’ So iniinis ko yung bata kasi love na love ko siya.
"Ang sarap niya kasing inisin so ako yung laging nang-iinis kay Seve."
Toni added, "Pag dumating iyan [si Alex] sa bahay, tumatakbo na si Seve. Parang akala mo meron nang ano…
"Sasabihin niya [Baby Seve], ‘Tata…’ 'Tapos tatakbo na siya sa kusina."
