GMA-7 actor Mike Tan is very excited to finally meet his panganay. The 31-year-old Kapuso talent's non-showbiz wife is already on her 6th month of pregnancy.
Mike shared a sonogram of their baby on his Instagram account last Sunday, August 12, and wrote, "I can't wait to meet you and high-five you in real life! [kiss emoji]
"PS. Thank you to our OB-Sonologist for capturing this! #fatherhoodrocks #baby #babyfever"
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) via Instagram direct messaging, Mike said he and his wife have been planning on building their own family since they got married last January 22.
Mike told PEP.ph, "Nakaka-excite siyempre na ma-meet na namin ang aming little one. We've been praying and preparing for this baby for a long time.
"Kasi iyon talaga ang plano namin pagkatapos ng kasal namin: na mag-baby na agad para makapagsimula na ng sarili naming pamilya."
Mike assured that his wife is now doing well after enduring a complication during the first trimester of her pregnancy.
He said, "All good by God's grace! Mas magana at healthier na siya ngayon 'di tulad noong 1st trim niya na halos hindi siya makakain kasi may hyperemesis gravidarum siya."
According to americanpregnancy.org, pregnant moms with Hyperemesis Gravidarum experiences "severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and electrolyte disturbance."
For his part, Mike is doing everything he can to show his support for his pregnant wife.
The Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka actor told PEP.ph, "Kailangan pa raw niyang mag-gain ng weight.
"Pinag-complete bed rest din siya ng OB namin noong start of her 2nd trim kasi nagkaka-cramps siya.
"Kaya sobrang tutok ako sa kaniya. Ako ang kanyang P.A., driver, cook, lahat na!"
When asked how he sees himself as a father, Mike answered, "Honestly, di ko pa alam, but I know God will give me wisdom on how to raise the baby."
He also hopes to instill two important values to his child.
"Gusto ko lang na lumaki siyang katulad naming mag-asawa na, una, may intimate relationship kay God at, pangalawa, na marunong rumespeto ng tao mula sa kahit anong estado ng buhay."
It was on July 16 when Mike announced on Instagram that he and his wife are expecting their first baby.
