Ina Raymundo shared a dilemma that most working moms experience.
While she welcomes the steady stream of acting projects both in television and movies, the mom of five says her children have been asking her to slow down with work.
The 40-year-old actress told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Yung bunso ko at yung pang-apat. Lagi nilang sinasabi, 'I don't want you to work. I want you to stay, I want you to pick me up from school. I want you to be like my friend’s mom, ganon. Meron silang ganon."
PEP.ph's exclusive interview took place after the presscon proper of her new series Ngayon at Kailanman on Monday, August 13, at ABS-CBN's Dolphy Theater in Quezon City.
Ina added that she makes sure she gets to spend quality time with her children.
"Time management. Like pag wala akong taping, ina-appreciate nila na hinahatid-sundo ko sila sa school. 'Tapos sa gabi pinapatulog ko sila, meron kaming bonding."
She continued, "Kasi sa school, whole day na yun, di ba?
"Pero they grow up so fast kaya ayokong lumaki sila. Nalulungkot lang ako na lumalaki na yung mga anak ko and one day they don’t want to be with me, yung ganong feeling.
"So nakakalungkot. Kung puwede nga lang magkaroon pa ng isang baby."
What's stopping her and her husband Brian Poturnak from adding to their brood of five?
"Puwede pa naman, pero ayaw na ng asawa ko, kasi marami na… pero I love babies talaga. Kapag nakakakita ako ng mga babies, I’m still longing to have one kasi alam kong lumalaki na nga yung mga bata.
"Gusto ko talaga ng baby, ng toddler."
Pressed why Brian doesn't want to have another kid, Ina answered, "Kasi we’re not young anymore. He’s being realistic, ako naman I’m being idealistic.
"Kaya buti na lang din nga na siya yung nagbago, kasi kung hindi nagbago yung mindset niya, siguro sampu yung anak namin. Kasi ako yung game, e."
The 42-year-old hot momma then said in jest, "I'm a baby maker talaga... Ay, maganda yung movie na yun ah, yung kay Dina Bonnevie."
Ina was referring to Dina's 1987 film Palimos ng Pag-ibig, which was based on the 1970 movie The Baby Maker.
Going back to having more children, Ina continued, “I love carrying babies. I love having babies, I love breastfeeding, I love everything about being a mom.”
And while her age has become a deterrent in physically carrying a baby, she noted that there's still one option, but she needs to talk it out with Brian first.
"Yung adoption last na siguro yun, last resort. Kasi kailangan sa adoption, you're on the same page. Kasi kung ang asawa mo hindi open, you cannot force it, di ba? Pero I will do everything."
