Shamcey Supsup says her daughter is learning to speak Mandarin with the help of her grandparents: "May mga pinapanood siyang mga cartoons na Mandarin 'tapos kinakausap siya ng lola in Mandarin. So ngayon marunong pa siya kesa sa 'kin."

Shamcey Supsup and her husband Lloyd Lee will welcome their second child in October, a boy.

Lloyd is part Chinese, and according to the former beauty queen, they followed the Chinese calendar to have a baby boy.

She said, "Well, sa akin nag-work, and not everyone naman daw...

"So di ko rin alam, suwerte lang din siguro kami we follow the calendar, and we have a boy."

Basically, it entails computing the right time to get pregnant based on the couple’s birthdays.

Shamcey explained, "Ano yun, e, by your age, 'tapos malalaman mo kung anong days daw dapat mag-conceive to have boy or a girl.

"So kami naman, wala lang, parang nag-joke lang kami na, 'Sige nga, follow nga natin 'tong calendar...'

"Parang for this year, sobrang small ng window for a boy, so grinab namin yung chance na parang two-week window na yun.

"So sa akin, end of January, first week of February." (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Shamcey at Globe myBusiness Star Bazaar on Friday, August 17, in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

So now, Shamcey and Lloyd can hardly wait for the birth of  their baby, and just as excited as they are is their two-year-old panganay Nyke.

The former beauty queen said she can also see that Nyke will be a loving sister to her baby brother.

The 32-year-old celebrity mom elaborated, "Alam niya, parang every time nga nakikita niya ako sinasabi niya na, 'There’s baby, there’s a baby!'

"Sabi ko, 'Where is the baby?' 'Inside mommy’s tummy.'

"'Tapos sabi ko, 'See, there is a baby brother... Do you love baby brother?'

"'Of course,' sabi niya... 'You will take care of baby brother?' Sabi niya, 'Of course...'"

Shamcey said Nyke is also very much exposed to Chinese traditions and currently learning Mandarin through Lloyd's parents.

“It’s more of like we want her to learn speak English and Mandarin. Yun talaga.

"May mga pinapanood siyang mga cartoons na Mandarin 'tapos kinakausap siya ng lola in Mandarin.

“So ngayon, marunong pa siya kesa sa 'kin, mas konti lang yung alam ko.

“Minsan, di ko na siya naiintindihan pag nagsasalita siya pero pag andyan si Lloyd, ‘Anong sinabi? Ah, okay.'"
