Lucy Torres-Gomez turns to her unica hija Juliana for advice even on serious matters. "Sometimes children have the kind of practical wisdom that over-analyzing adults don't have."

Lucy Torres-Gomez considers herself more than blessed to have found a "little best friend" in her unica hija Juliana Gomez.

Beaming with pride, the actress-turned-politician is all praises for her 18-year-old daughter and how she has been her happy pill all these years.

She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview during Richard Gomez's When Evening Comes exhibit, "Juliana and I, yes we’re mother and daughter, but we are also each other’s best friends.

“We’re very playful, we do funny things like we do weird dance moves together or we can be very goofy when we’re together.”

On serious matters, she turns to her daughter with Richard Gomez for some advice.

She explained, “Sometimes children have the kind of practical wisdom that over-analyzing adults don’t have.”

Achieving this kind of relationship wasn’t an easy feat.

“It’s a bond that has been honed since she was a child.

“I believe kasi na when two people become close, it doesn’t happen overnight.

“It’s a relationship that’s built over time, it’s a relationship that’s nurtured, and it’s a relationship that’s valued.”

What’s their favorite mother-daughter bonding?

“At night, we stay in bed and we watch movies together, we cry together.

“Ang hilig namin nung manonood kami ng kunwari, I made her watch Legends of the Fall recently which is an old movie that I really, really love, but when she saw it, iyak siya nang iyak.

“And then we watched The Notebook together, we watched all these mga classics.

“We also have a way of ano we send each other direct messages on Instagram kapag may nakita kaming nakakatawa."

She added, “Yung bonding namin usually is really just eating, we go to a restaurant, a nice restaurant, and then we talk about everything.”
