One of the greatest achievements of parents is having children who are mabait, malambing, and masunurin.
Recently, Regine Velasquez was on a cloud nine because his son, Nate Alcasid, already knows the value of money at his young age.
The unico hijo of Regine and Ogie Alcasid is turning seven years old today, November 8.
Here's the Kapamilya star's heartwarming story, which she posted on Instagram yesterday, November 7.
"So today we bought some toys (game prizes) for his birthday. Siyempre meron din siya, medyo mahal yung napili niya so he said, 'Oh I won’t get that because its too expensive.'
"Pero alam ko na gustung-gusto niya talaga, kaya kinuha ko at binayaran ko na.
"'Tapos nung nakita niya, sabi niya, 'But mom, that’s too expensive,' I said, 'Well I’m getting it for you because I love you so much.'"
Nate's reaction made Regine's heart swell with pride.
She continued, "Parang naluluha siya 'tapos sabi niya sa 'kin, 'Oh mommy I love you sooooo much thank you.'
"'Tapos ulit ulit niya akong sinasabihan ng 'I love you so much, mommy' hangang makarating na kami sa car. [crying emoji]
"Hindi pa natapos dun. Padating namin sa house pinagmalaki pa niya sa mga kasama namin sa house. My two sisters [were] there kinausap pa niya at sinabi na, 'You know this is so expensive (sinabi pa talaga niya yung presyo).'
"'Tapos sinabi niya, 'It’s expensive but mommy got it for me because she loves me so much.'"
Nate kept on thanking his mom that day, and even made a promise.
Regine further wrote, "So tonight before going to sleep nag-I love you na na naman siya. Then I said, 'You know, when [you] get older you will not like me anymore baka you won’t love me na when you get bigger.'
"Sabi ko it’s really like that, even other kids experience that.
"Then he said, 'Oh not me mommy, I will love you forever. I will even call you my love, mommy [three crying emojis]. Then mommy died and went to heaven na."
Lastly, the singer/host/actress joked thet "45" is her son's "real age."
"I can't believe that you will be 7 years old na (pero actually 45 years na talaga siya in real life)
"You are the sweetest Boo boo bear ever honey. I love you sooooo much to the moon the stars pluto cubao divisoria quiapo and back..."
