There's a phase when some children become more playful, and get scolded by their parents as a way of disciplining them.
In the case of Kyla Alvarez, she always feels guilty every time she reprimands Toby, her six-year-old son with husband Rich Alvarez.
On Tuesday, January 29, the queen of R&B recalled the moment Toby received a scolding from his dad while they were on vacation in France.
"As much as we can, we try to respond to his emotions in a comforting manner even when we’re mad."
Kyla felt emotional after seeing her son cry, but noted that it's also important to let him know the wrong thing he did.
In a previous Instagram post last January 17, Kyla expressed her unwavering love for Toby.
"This whole trip, he’s been asking me if he is different and special.
"My answer to him would always be, 'there is no one else like you, and you are wonderful exactly as you are. You are unique, and yes, you are special.'
"Anak, please know that i love you and i will always be there for you."
