Ice Seguerra and wife Liza Diño are one step closer to their dream of having a child through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
They had gone through the initial stage of the process, which entailed harvesting Ice's eggs and freezing them for storage.
Later, in December, their timetable for Liza's pregnancy, the eggs will be fertilized with the sperm taken from their chosen donor.
According to Ice, "Ano iyon, you can freeze them... Matagal, walang problema. Ang importante is ma-freeze siya at nasa state na good pa siya."
Ice and Liza have been open about their journey to parenthood via IVF, and that's to help other couples who are going through difficulties of conceiving.
But the singer said he prefers to keep specific details private.
"Actually ako, ang talagang people will remain private about it—kung saan ginawa, kung saan, ano... for respect na rin.
"Because you know in our country, we’re not very open about it inasmuch as our doctors would love to, kumbaga, there are repercussions also, so iyon lang."
Ice added, "I hope na walang mention na who or where, and all those things."
But Ice clarified that they would tell their future child about how he or she was conceived.
Ice said, "For the child, definitely tatanungin naman niya, I mean, we would be very honest.
"Siguro if there is one thing, even with Amara [Liza's daughter], Liza and I, honesty talaga yung number one sa bahay namin.
"It’s the number one policy na wala kaming tinatago. Even with my brother, my brother knew when he was very young. I have an adopted brother. He’s ano, He’s 29."
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Ice revealed how his parents, particularly his mother, Mommy Caring, felt about this new chapter in his married life.
"Siyempre excited mommy ko, she’s been praying. Siyempre ina-update ko siya every once in a while.
"Sabi ko, 'Mama yung itlog ko. Yung itlog ko, Mi, medyo ano, low performing.' 'O, sige, sige pag-pray natin ‘yan.'
"So, ganoon siya. When I told her, sobra siyang happy. Siyempre siguro walang mas excited kaysa sa kanya.
"Grabe excitement ng nanay ko. Ibang klase."
