Bea Alonzo and fiancé Dominic Roque will be welcoming the new year at a destination that's special for them—Japan!
According to the latest Instagram updates from the couple, they touched down in Hokkaido, the northernmost snowy island of Japan, on December 26, 2023.
Dominic took the lead in sharing their experience by posting a video of the snowy evening on his Instagram feed upon their arrival.
In the caption, he wrote, "Grateful for small things. big things, and everything in between...[emojis] #Sapporo [emoji] @discover_grp."
In the comments, Dominic mentioned that the video was captured at the Sapporo Beer Garden.
On the morning of December 27, 2023, Bea provided an Instagram Reels update, showcasing the couple leisurely strolling through the snowy streets of Sapporo.
"First day in Sapporo," the Kapuso actress wrote with a snowman and snow emoji.
In a follow-up post on Instagram Reels that same day, Dominic revealed that their trip was a spontaneous, last-minute decision, expressing gratitude to the travel agency that swiftly assisted them for the journey.
He wrote, "It's the most Wonderful time of the year! [emojis] Thank you, @discover_grp for helping us arrange our trip in such a short notice [emojis]"
The couple visited Mount Moiwa in Sapporo, where Bea and Dominic sealed their romantic vows by placing love locks as a symbolic gesture of their eternal love.

In the caption, Bea wrote, "Beautiful view from Mount Moiwa. Dom and I decided to be cheesy and got ourselves a lovelock and put it on the railings.
"Sabi nila goodluck daw for lovers [emojis] Tinapon na namin yung key, pang forever nato. Hahhahaha [emojis] @discover_grp"
On December 28, 2023, Bea and Dominic went to Otaru, a city near Sapporo, and had delicious snow crab.

"Otaru with my Otoko!" wrote Bea with a laugh out loud and heart emoji.
Otoko is the Japanese word for man, which has also been adapted to 'bekimon,' the Filipino gay lingo.
On Saturday, December 30, 2023, the couple went on a skiing adventure at Niseko, Japan's well-known ski resort.
Dominic shared a photo of himself riding a cable car to the ski area. Bea, for her part, is yet to share an update on her experience.
In 2022, the couple also traveled to Japan in late December for a well-deserved vacation.
It's worth recalling that Japan was where the couple's romantic spark was first ignited.
During her PEP Spotlight interview in November 2022, Bea recounted a story related to a photo taken at Ichiran in Fukuoka City.
The photo was taken in November 2019 during a trip in Japan when Bea was with Dominic and their friend Nina Ferrer.
Bea recalled, "Kasama ko diyan si Dom, nung nag-Japan kami. Pero as in, wala, platonic pa nung na yan. Dun nagsimula... Dun ko siya nakita in a different light, pero hindi pa yang part na yan. Parang pa-end na ng trip."
