A month before the actual pageant, eleven of the Miss Universe 2016 candidates are given the chance to visit the host country, Philippines.
First in their itinerary after the press presentation held last Saturday, December 10, was Siargao.
At past 9 a.m. on Sunday, the 12 beauties (including out very own Maxine Medina) arrived in the tear-shaped island where they were welcomed with a traditional dance and a festive vibe.
Miss Universe Australia 2016 Caris Tiivel caught it on the camera.
The ladies were brought to Dedon Island Resort, which Miss Universe Thailand 2016 Chalita Suansane described the "most beautiful in the world."
Referring to the island, she added, "Siargao Island is such a heaven on the earth. I will definitely come back again."
The pageant candidates had fun under the sun in their swimwear.
Tourism Undersecretary Kat De Castro wrote on Instagram, "Don't you wish you were in Siargao with these gorgeous ladies?"
Filipino pride Maxine Medina looked so fabulous in her two-piece swimwear.
In a post, the Pinay beauty queen wrote about her excitement "to show with my fellow #missUniverse2016 candidates what my country has to offer."
Miss Universe Malaysia 2016 Kiran Jassal and Miss Universe New Zealand 2016 Tania Dawson "fooling around" before their interview.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe USA 2016 Deshauna Barber said Maxine was a "pretty awesome host."
The candidates who joined their first trip were (L-R): Miss China Li Zhenying, Miss Korea Jenny Kim, Miss New Zealand Tania Dawson, Miss Malaysia Kiran Jassal, Miss Philippines Maxine Medina, Miss Indonesia Kezia Roslin Cikita Warouw, Miss Vietnam Ngo Tra My, Miss Japan Sari Nakazawa, Miss Myanmar Htet Htet Htun, Miss Australia Caris Tiivel, Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane, and Miss USA Deshauna Barber.
Aside from Siargao, the beauty queens are set to visit other amazing provinces like Cebu and Davao.
