Summer has arrived in Manila.
This week, we're back to having a temperature of more than 30 degrees Celsius.
Lucky for these celebrities, they are presently skiing and snowboarding in a place called Niseko.
Located on northern Hokkaido Island in Japan, it is set against the backdrop of Mt. Yotei, an active volcano.
It is referred to as the "winter wonderland" because champagne powder snow blankets the region from November to April.
According to NisekoTourism.com, its snow "has a moisture content of only eight percent," thus, it is "extremely light and dry and makes for wonderful skiing."
Gretchen Barretto and her squad arrived at the New Chitose Airport in Sapporo two days ago.
In total, it's a six-hour travel by plane.
The flight from Manila to either Tokyo or Osaka or Nagoya will take four hours.
From any of those cities, it will take another two hours to reach Sapporo.
But the land travel is also long. Divine Lee's description was, "Parang tour of Luzon. Manila to Tarlac, ganun."
It really is so cold.
Gretchen keeps herself warm with a down coat that has a fur hood.
Their balcony in Shiki Niseko has snow!!!
A few hours ago, Gretchen bumped into Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff.
It was the Kapamilya actress' first time to try snowboarding earlier today, February 23.
Anne's snowboarding teacher, Erwan, said she is a "fast learner."
It turned out, Anne and Erwan traveled with the latter's sister Solenn Heussaff and husband Nico Bolzico.
On Instagram, Solenn remarked, "Love this place."
Cousins Isabelle Daza and Jessica also woke up to such snow-covered view.
Anne, Solenn, Isabelle, Jessica, and their beaus are all staying at AYA Niseko, which charges around 51,000 YEN or PHP 23,000 for a Studio Village View room.
Georgina Wilson's room has a ski resort view. which costs more than 100,000 YEN or PHP 44,000.
